BringBackFergy Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Does anyone know if EJ and Marrone could have held off on telling everyone that EJ is cleared to play?? I know there are some technical rules about making sure you give the media information re. the status of players and, of course, you need to keep your injury report up to date for all involved. I was just thinking it would have been nice to hold off on making the announcement until sayyyyyy Friday afternoon so the Steelers prepare for Tuel and Thad during the week. Is there some rule out there that says a team has to report a player is cleared to play immediately after the doctor makes that call??? I remember some of you guys saying Bellicheat traditionally tags important players as "doubtful" or "questionable" but in the back of his mind already knows they are going to be playing. Wouldn't mind seeing Marrone screw with the media and the Steelers a little and keep EJ's status "doubtful" until Friday afternoon.

EJs status will either be limited or full practice, and likely questionable - maybe probable.

I guess I'm questioning the PR/Front Office decision to have EJ make this announcement on Monday...shoot, let him suit up and practice, hobble around a little and then make the medical announcement on Friday with the hope that the Steelers scamper around looking for EJ film. (Then again, preparing for Tuel and Thad will probably take about 45 minutes while having a Promarties (sp?) sandwich over lunch hour).

On the GR pre-game show yesterday, JB said that Manuel was moving, running and throwing with no visible signs of pain, or discomfort..the cutting of Flynn makes me think "probable" is the way it is going to play out.
