Beerball
One of the most sane responses so far comes from Brandon Marshall. http://deadspin.com/...llia-1461052472 (apologies if already posted)

John in Jax
So what does everybody think about Incognito's interview today on Fox? I thought he came across well, and a lot better than I would have thought. Guess he's not the "racist" monster everybody is making him out to be. Sounds like the media still holds a grudge against "jocks" for those wedgies in middle school. How about Martins text to Incognito...... Guess he's not the "racist" monster everybody is making him out to be. the fact that after he left the team he was texting incognito was a bit telling. The reporter even got a the printout of the over 1000 texts between the two over the last year. This whole thing is being blown way out of proportion. 4merper4mer
Hypothetical: What if it isn't really Incognito that Martin fears? What would all of these tough guys do if they were Martin and MIKE POUNCEY threatened to kill him and then made some reference to his buddy Hernandez? The point is that nobody knows exactly what is going on here so criticizing Martin is sort of stupid.
KD in CA
So Martin sent the same kinds of texts to Incognito?? Hmmm....it sounds like we can get back to just enjoying the Dolphins implosion pretty soon. I've done it with my 8 year old boy and it worked for a while. Although he is light years ahead of RI in emotional maturity, even in his Star Wars pajamas. They were jammies! They had Yoda's and sh-- on 'em! http://www.hark.com/clips/bsxtshbngk-what-did-the-pajamas-look-like

Incognito said mean things about his mother, and Martin didn't want to go to strip clubs, but he was afraid to tell him. And then Martin sucked, and nobody wanted to sit with him. And then RI had a sign in his locker that was HATEFUL towards rookies. And then Martin was soft-spoken, but RI was way too loud. Then Martin found out how football players treat guys that should be cut, but are kept around because they were high picks. Then Martin talked to the boss, and the boss said "what? Get outta here, we all know Richie's a loudmouth, just slug him one for all of us. You have my permission." Then Martin didn't want to go to practice, but instead went to get a doctor's excuse. Then the press got some of the story, and they were very excited because they figured they would all meet their quota of "hits' rather easily this week. Then we got to see what a d-bag Incognito really is, and how much his teammates love him. And hate him. Then every single person in the league, and out of the league, and at home, and at work, wanted to tell everybody about a time they were bullied. Then we all got a chance to act surprised that the NFL is filled with guys raging and rolling on PED's and painkillers, who speak and act violently and erratically, and that would likely be in jail if they weren't making multiple millions of dollars knocking into each other. Rob's House
I know some of you guys are taking this story really seriously, so forgive me if my "poor taste" offends any of yalls' sensitivities, but a funny thought occurred to me. I envisioned a father and son sitting in a fast food place being frequented by a group of athletes. When one sits, the others get up and move, at which point the guy, without saying a word, gets up, flips out, starts yelling and slamming his tray against the garbage can, then runs away crying. At this point the dad, with a straight face and solemn tone points to the man running away and tells his son "that's how a man handles his business." boyst
So far I am pretty much spot on. Jonathan Martin says he is not going to play for the Dolphins again... ...next up Incognito releases a statement. then... he is released. then... Philbin and GM. then... new coach welcomes Jonathan Martin back. then...Martin meets with the team but opts out of joining and files grievance. then... NFL players union faces huge dilema - how do they handle this? then...NFL/Goodell has to step in. then...Martin gets traded.

BigBuff423
it is amazing that now, even in the media, there are so many taking a moral high ground based on their principles and experience in the league when they were a part of this very culture. I do not care what some player relevant to the game 10 years ago is thinking today, I want to know what he was doing to address and change this 10 years ago. Most likely, nothing. True....although, you could argue the social and political climate is very different, but your overall point is well stated and taken.

Prickly Pete
I'm still wondering if the "malicious attack" we heard about, was from Tannenhill after getting crushed by a guy Martin let through. Unless it involved a weapon, it couldn't be any worse than the abuse Tannenhill has received from 250+lbs. guys weekly.
