Buffaloed in Pa Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Can't stand girl arm QBs that can't reach their receievers... Then you won`t like EJ either, deep ball sux.
Prickly Pete Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 this is also true. I don't favor releasing him, won't do anything now. But the FO really messed up by not having a veteran backup. I think we need a TE with our first pick also. We need someone more reliable than Chandler. He can play TE2 in a two TE set, but no way he is a TE1 when you have young QB's who need to throw to the TE's. They had 2 veteran backups, and just signed another earlier this week.
NoName Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 (edited) how about we release you for creating this thread. A free agent rookie qb getting his first start against the only undefeated team in the league and you guys want to jump all over the guy. If he doesn't make the mistake in the endzone we win the game. You guys are forgetting something. When Flynn was available as a free agent, his o.c. just got the gig in Miami. Miami was in need of a qb and had little to no interest in Flynn. And what did Flynn go on to do since leaving g.b.? Edited November 3, 2013 by NoName
IronyAbounds Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 This isn't the Special Olympics. You don't give a guy a purple ribbon just for competing. Tuel is out of his depth as an NFL QB. Period.
Mickey Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 He's not good but who is healthy and better? This loss is on Hackett much more than Tuel. Yeah, that pick six and fumble for another six was totally Hackett's fault...good call.

LancasterSteve Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 He played about as well as Thad has been playing. They are both practice squad quarterbacks. It is Doug Whaley's job that the Bills have a competent backup quarterback and he missed on his evaluations. An undrafted free agent quarterback as your starter ??? Really ??? Whaley had a decent draft but to mishandle the back-up quarterback position is inexcusable. To assume that any quarterback can play a 16 game schedule injury free is really shortsighted.
dubs Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Oh my !@#$ing God. What did you guys expect out of a UDFA rookie? Yeah, he was bad. It's funny because when our first round pick sucks ass we're all reminded that he's a rookie, but when a guy who's lucky to make the roster plays a similarly poor game we get unbridled outrage. Simmer down, people. I know it's aggravating. I'm mad too, but let's not blast this kid for being in this position. I don't think anyone blames Tuel per se. He is what we thought he was, someone who should not be playing nfl football. The only part of his game that is moderately decent is his long ball. Everything else is an abomination. Tuel cost us two games. I don't really blame him anymore than if someone from this board got put into that position. It's totally unfair to expect him to win games, he's just not capable of that.
Nuncha Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 I guarantee there are at least 20 guys who could be in uniform tomorrow better than Jeff Tuel. That know the playbook and could start next week? LOL! This team losing for so long has fried too many brains.....
fridge Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Thad didn't have 8 drops by his receivers. Thad took 5 sacks a game, Tuel took zero. Thad had 2-3 turnovers per game, tuel had 2. They played about the same. Do they make brail keyboards now?
Hapless Bills Fan Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 I guarantee there are at least 20 guys who could be in uniform tomorrow better than Jeff Tuel. Cool, who are they? Let's have that list, in rank order I assume and only including QB who are actually currently available (eg no "trade FJ for Cousins" silliness)? Be sure to send your list to Hackett and Marrone, too, I'm sure they'd like to know

UGHH I agree with you on about everything, but just pointing out the obvious in saying this is said every week! If we did this, we win, if we did that we win. It's always one play. But we always LOSE those games. Again, just the obvious. It just feels so lopsided.
Nuncha Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 (edited) I can't believe I'm typing this but I'd rather have Tebow. You are FN drunk....I'd rather see this team bring back Trent Edwards Edited November 3, 2013 by Azucho98
Security Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Tuel cannot hit out throws, it is the reason Losman was never good, and Losman had a way better arm. Tuel does not have the arm to hit the out throws, and also showed he does have the accuracy either. The hitch in his release will never work, Rivers gets away with it because he can zing it still with that delivery.
Omar Little Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 (edited) He's not good but who is healthy and better? This loss is on Hackett much more than Tuel. I'm sorry, but is this the same Hackett whose offense racked up over 400 yards? All that with a nobody QB, and against a highly ranked defense. Hackett gets zero blame today. Alphadawg7 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 I'm sure he's a nice guy. I'm sure that his family loves him. But Jeff Tuel is obviously not an NFL-quality backup, and never will be. Get Flynn ready, and find someone else on the waiver wire. We don't need any more data or practice reps. He can't play. I'm glad he got that TD pass, because even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while and he'll need something to show his grandkids. But he needs to be released. Of course, he won't be because Ralph is concerned about full stadia and refills on tapioca. But I digress. And what does waving him do? Nothing. He is NOT ready to be a starter, but he has shown enough to feel he can be developed. Why are there so many idiotic posts every week of wanting to cut or fire people? What does that solve...nothing. If you want to swap Dixon and Tuel on PS, then fine. But cutting him serves zero purpose other than the blood lust lynchings all you irrational posters on here for some kind of vindication for the loss. This board never disapoints...
dubs Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 You are FN drunk.... Tebow would be a VAST improvement over Tuel. That's not really a ringing endorsement, but the truth. He's accomplished about 1000x more in his college and NFL career than Tuel. Btw - I agree tebow sucks, but just playing into the hate tebow hype machine doesn't mean he isn't much better than Tuel.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Tuel cannot hit out throws, it is the reason Losman was never good, and Losman had a way better arm. Leelee Phoenix Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 As I said in July, I remain at a loss as to what the Bills see in Tuel. Weak arm, immature with a bad attitude, slightly mobile I guess, accomplished nothing in college albeit on an atrocious team but he was never heralded as a passer anyway. Where is the upside. Then he had one good half against the Colts' cuts in the opening preseason game which makes him untouchable? Does Tuel know dirty secrets about Doug Whaley? Maybe he mistakenly sent him freaky porn too.
Security Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 he hit his outs today, so I am not sure why this is how you would critique his play. He didn't from what I saw.
