CJPearl2 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Can't wait for the new season to start - sometime in March. Also, it was great to see Ian McShane win a Golden Globe for AL Swearengen. It is by far the best character on TV - and he plays him perfect. Too bad it lost best drama - between Deadwood and the Sopranos, TV doen't get much better.
HtownBillsFan Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I too cannot wait for the season to start. Its a great show and Im glad that there is a season two. Love him or hate him, Al Swearengen is a great character.
cashfruit Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 deadwoods great. yeah i like swearengen too, hes a mean bastard especially to his girls but sometimes a iron fist needs to be handed out to keep them hoes in line. i think i like it so much because alot of it is factual.
Anon Y. Mous Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 I have not seen this show... but I hear it is good. I was disappointed that Oliver Platt did not win best supporting actor in a series for Huff. The guy is brilliant in this role as a crazy drugged up lawyer.
Navy Chief Navy Pride Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 the first series is being replayed now on mondays @ 10---good watch---gotta love swegden(if u watch u know)
Britbillsfan Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 McShane has always been a good actor, it is great to see him finally get a part that he can really get his teeth into. Deadwood is my one 'must watch' show. Swearengen (an apt name for a character if ever there was one) was beginning to fill out as a character at the end, a very nasty piece of work but not just another brainless psychopath but one with a history that allowed you to see what might have caused him to become such a monster. Mind you the show has a very well put together cast, McShane is not the only star that shines in it.

Formerly Allan in MD Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 I half expected McShane to show up at the Golden Globes in his underwear. Hope he washes it for the new season. It looked pretty nasty toward the end of the first season.
GG Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Let's not forget that the show was created by Buffalo's own - David Milch.
