HurlyBurly51 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Precisely what are you positing here? A cease and desist on all speculation here? I asked you a straight up Yes or No question on whether a decision had been made or not, leave out any speculation. And you answer with your speculation, which your argument for Tuel was based on. I find that a Thad silly.
The Big Cat Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I asked you a straight up Yes or No question on whether a decision had been made or not, leave out any speculation. And you answer with your speculation, which your argument for Tuel was based on. I find that a Thad silly. So that is what you're positing? A full-on desist of any and all discussion on decisions or actions not yet made? He's listed as doubtful. Should we talk about the game as if he's going to play? Or just not talk about the game at all? Do you think it makes no difference who the quarterback is thus the conversation is pointless?
GG Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Well, I count at least two instances of hyperbolic fantasy in your account of what happened. What exactly was the point you had to lie to try and make? Hyperbolic fantasy that Tuel needed a fortunate penalty call to get one first down or that the next one came when game was out of reach? How about answering the basic question of how they decided that Tuel was an NFL ready QB?
zow2 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Pocket presence is actually supposed to be Tuel's strength, according to a lot of the pre-draft scouting reports. When there were real men running at him from the Cleveland Browns, not peer group guys from the Pac-12....he looked like my 12 year old nephew out there in the pocket. I'm just scared to see him start a very meaningful game like this.

How about answering the basic question of how they decided that Tuel was an NFL ready QB? So they should have looked at his performance during preseason and decided he wasn't? Or this is another argument that completely ignores the time Kolb spent on our roster as if Tuel was meant to be the backup all along? And yeah, you exaggerated two quantitative points to make bash...somebody?
GG Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 So they should have looked at his performance during preseason and decided he wasn't? Or this is another argument that completely ignores the time Kolb spent on our roster as if Tuel was meant to be the backup all along? And yeah, you exaggerated two quantitative points to make bash...somebody? Last I checked Kolb never made it to the opening season roster. So someone in the organization thought that Tuel was ready, and they were very wrong.
Bufcomments Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Think about it if Thad does not play the season is over at 3-6. Maybe that's way they playing Spiller when the really should not. No way either Tuel or Flynn can lead this team to a victory vs a top 5 Defense. I hate every Nov we just about out of it....when will it change???
The Big Cat Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Last I checked Kolb never made it to the opening season roster. So someone in the organization thought that Tuel was ready, and they were very wrong. Why does that make any difference? Someone in the organization thought Tuel was more ready than anyone else. Care to suggest an available quarterback that makes this statement false?
KikO M G Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 If you honestly believe Tuel will lead this offense to a single touch down, you are beyond hope when it comes to delusional fandom. The guy simply can't play. Case closed. If he starts I would bet he will have more turnovers then completed passes and the Chiefs will score more points than Tuel will have receiving yards. He is not an NFL Quarterback. Maybe one day he can be. But not this year and certainly not this week.
GG Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Why does that make any difference? Someone in the organization thought Tuel was more ready than anyone else. Care to suggest an available quarterback that makes this statement false? Yes, how about the guy they eventually turned to, or the one on their practice squad.
The Big Cat Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Yes, how about the guy they eventually turned to, or the one on their practice squad. The guy they signed in the fourth week of preseason? And tell me again what Jeff Tuel AND Thad did during preseason that would have warranted this decision?
Kirby Jackson Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 The guy they signed in the fourth week of preseason? And tell me again what Jeff Tuel AND Thad did during preseason that would have warranted this decision? Thad had a decent display in1 NFL start prior to this season. Also, he was traded for not signed.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I really hope Tuel plays, simply to silence the doubters. I just have a good feeling about this kid.
The Big Cat Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Thad had a decent display in1 NFL start prior to this season. Also, he was traded for not signed. So what? He wasn't traded for because he was too good to let a potential opponent have. He was traded for because our starter was injured. We got him because we were desperate.

So someone in the organization thought that Tuel was ready, and they were very wrong. Not sure what the bone of contention is here, but it would seem Marrone and Hackett both thought he was ready and they were willing to gamble on that decision. Both were very wrong and Marrone has said as much without publicly running Tuel over with the bus. I doubt we'll hear anything from Hackett, but it's safe to assume he feels the same way. GO BILLS!!! I really hope Tuel plays, simply to silence the doubters. I just have a good feeling about this kid. I'd like to see him silence my doubt, too, if it comes to that. But the last two times he's gotten any significant playing time in a game, he's looked terrible and that includes the starters minutes in the all important 3rd pre-season dress rehearsal against the Redskins, when he had gotten the bulk of the reps prior. GO BILLS!!!
KikO M G Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I really hope Tuel plays, simply to silence the doubters. I just have a good feeling about this kid. No no NO! Be honest with yourself, man! Tuel will do absolutely nothing on Sunday.

I just find him to be intriguing, maybe because he is an unknown and he gave us some flashes of potential against Indy. The reality of the situation is that for him to perform at the level of Thad, all he needs to do is make maybe 4-5 good throws at some point, take fewer than 4 sacks, and not turn the ball over 3 times.
