Just Jack
Saw Enders Game today. My one beef with the entire movie? A society that can create a massive space station and intergalactic spaceships, still using conventional rocket technology to leave Earth?

rockpile
Ain't in it for My Health: A Film About Levon Helm Not a new release, but new to me. I am going to see this at the Eastman House Dryden Theater in Rochester tomorrow night. It is a documentary with Levon Helm, from the Band, after the release of "Dirt Farmer", his first CD after his troubles with throat cancer. http://dryden.eastma...out-levon-helm/ http://www.levonhelmfilm.com/ BTW: Dirt Farmer CD got a Grammy in the Americana category, so he followed it up with Electric Dirt Farmer, LOL. Miyagi-Do Karate
I just watched catching fire, and thought it was pretty solid for no. 2 in the trilogy. Anyone else see it?
shrader
I just watched catching fire, and thought it was pretty solid for no. 2 in the trilogy. Anyone else see it? I took the wife this weekend. All I could think the whole time was that they went an recreated the Star Wars trilogy for teenage girls. It was watchable, but I don't get why those movies are so popular. She'll have to pay me back by going to Anchorman next month.
birdog1960
I just watched catching fire, and thought it was pretty solid for no. 2 in the trilogy. Anyone else see it? i loved it but i loved the books and the first movie, too. i think it's much deeper than other recent movies in the genre. i keep thinking of the older tributes in the context of retired football players with post concussion syndrome and the themes of materialism, wealth inequality and propaganda are pretty appropriate right about now. jennifer lawrence is her generation's greatest movie actress, imo. the fact that she looks to me like a greek goddess doesn't hurt. boyst
I saw Frozen and Catching Fire on Saturday. Jennifer Lawrence looks weird with short hair. I knew nothing about either but they were both great. Frozen was a fun Diseny movie. Catching Fire is good and I knew nothing about the whole Hunger Games thing at all. It was boring to start off and had a lot of time where I wanted more, though. It seems to set up for a great ending, too. It was like a PG version of the "The Island" with Stone Cold Steve Austin.
