plenzmd1 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Weather.com now has a high of 37 with a 30% chance of snow showers.....oh man I hope that is right. My son jonesin for a snow game in the worst way.
Big Turk Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 That is true. Lake effect is more severe if there is a fair amount of open water. These can cause the usual snowfalls from a trace to 30+ inches. The worst blizzards however have come by having the accumulated snow on a frozen Lake Erie, blow off the lake to be deposited on land. This is exactly what happened with the blizzard of '77. I believe the actual snowfall was in the 3-4 inch range while the frozen Lake Erie was covered by 12+ inchs that the winds picked up and deposited on the City of Buffalo and the rest of Western New York. We were warned but no one realized what was to come. Any rest for me for the next 10 days was a rarity. Here is WBEN TV that forever defined WNY: How did they get Shaft to do that broadcast? Lmao!!!!
nucci Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 From past experience don't expect temps to get close to 40. Gets darker earlier and the nice breeze will make it a bit chilly.
5 Wide Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 How many plows are going 500 MPH? I guess I need to use the /sarcasm tag.
Leelee Phoenix Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) It's going to be about 40 and sunny. No snow. A great day for football. 42 is right around normal for this time of year. Average high is 52 on 4 November. It will be a cold day for the time of year, but we'll be back in the 60s by Tue/Wed Edited November 1, 2013 by Leelee Phoenix
COACH85 Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 It's going to be about 40 and sunny. No snow. A great day for football. Average high is 52 on 4 November Yikes, we aren't thrilled about the predicted temp of 37 but we also know it could be a heck of a lot worse too.
LancasterSteve Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 It's going to be about 40 and sunny. No snow. A great day for football. Average high is 52 on 4 November. It will be a cold day for the time of year, but we'll be back in the 60s by Tue/Wed Well WGRZ listed the average high as 53 but you failed to mention the average low as 38. Average those two out and the average temperature is 40.5. The high tomorrow is projected to be 39 degrees and the projected low at 26 degrees but very little wind so that is a plus. WIVB: http://www.wivb.com/weather/forecast WGRZ: http://www.wgrz.com/weather/default.aspx Temp at 10:30 was 37 and that is in the ballpark of what the temperature will be at kickoff
Marv's Neighbor Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Coach, first off, they are lucky to get Buffalo weather correct one day in advance let alone 5. Second, always bring rain gear with you, and I mean always, when you are traveling like you are....or be prepared to buy in Buffalo if you do not have any. it will be cold for your little one. Wind and cloud cover will be critical factors.if you can spend the extra and get clubs, be a good idea....If you not bringing the little one...42 is not cold at all and I would keep current seats Does Andy look good in Red???
Bufcomments Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Actually its a pretty good day for Nov 3 in the B-lo. It's cold mid-30's but little wind. It could be worse in Buffalo this time of year.
Fan in San Diego Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 You would think so, but it won't. Mythbusters tried, at normal speeds the engine block is what kept a car from splitting in two. The only way they could do it was to use a rocket sled going 500mph... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0xQTCsDQ8E Those guys have way to much fun and actually collect a paycheck.
