HtownBillsFan Posted January 17, 2005 Share Posted January 17, 2005 I keep getting the following alert when I try to access some sites I normally am allowed to: "The connection was refused when attempting to contact..." Can anyone tell me why I am getting this and what I can do to access the sites. One site is ticketmaster. I can normally order tickets, but for the last few days I am getting this alert. IDBillzFan Posted January 17, 2005 Share Posted January 17, 2005 I am not 100% on this, but it could be that you're trying to access sites that require IE, which is bogus bull sh--, but exists nonetheless. What version are you running? Download the latest. Have you rebooted your PC? (it's Windows, it likes that sort of thing) Cleared out all of your cookies, etc? HtownBillsFan Posted January 17, 2005 Author Share Posted January 17, 2005 I disabled my Norton Internet Security and it works. So I had to tool around with my firewall and finally got everything working. Something in the firewall suddenly was effecting my connectivity with secure sites. All is well now.
