Billshank Redemption Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 RIP, lets hope we are ready to pass to team on to an ownership group who will keep us here when Ralphs time comes.
papazoid Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Adams, who founded the Houston Oilers at the outset of the American Football League, had owned his franchise longer than any other current NFL owner, a few months ahead of fellow AFL originator Ralph Wilson of the Bills. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/21/reports-titans-owner-bud-adams-dies-at-90/
Maguire's Beer Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 I guess this means that Ralph wins the tontine and takes possession of the original AFL franchise fees - given that it was invested in gold by Lamar Hunt, that must be worth around $6 million today. Not a bad haul.
Captain Hindsight Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Makes me worry about Ralph... RIP Bud
Buffalo Barbarian Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Check this out...from the same day...2:38 mark! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vEFK_zqsOw sign of the devil? Barron Hilton and Ralph Wilson are the surviving members of the "Foolish Club" Who is Barron Hilton?
Just Jack Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Who is Barron Hilton? Original owner of the Chargers. http://articles.latimes.com/2009/nov/30/sports/la-sp-dwyre30-2009nov30
Buffalo Barbarian Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Original owner of the Chargers. http://articles.lati...yre30-2009nov30 Thanks, interesting, If I was him I would have told dad that some one else run can run the hotels. ... what's with the dots?
Dean Cain Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Bud Adams good owner, tough decision to move to Nashville. Art Modell of the South.
67 Lion Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Dear old Ralph just turned 95. He is the oldest surviving founder. Give him credit for finally stepping away from active management of the team. Sadly, some day in the not too distant future, we will learn that he too has passed...and then our troubles will really begin.
26CornerBlitz Posted October 21, 2013 Author Posted October 21, 2013 Does Tennessee have a contingency plan? Did he leave the team to a family member? @jwyattsports In agreement with @McClain_on_NFL that Bud's son-in-law, Tommy Smith, will likely be heavily involved moving forward with the organization.
atlbillsfan1975 Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Who was he flipping off? I believe it was said later it was Wilson???
