johnwalter Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 How many games does Thad have to win to hold the starting job in your eyes? 5-0? 4-1?
26CornerBlitz Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 It matters not. When EJ returns to health, he's the starting QB. Period! EOS.

FireChan Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 It matters not. When EJ returns to health, he's the starting QB. Period! EOS. Really? I think Thad is better in every conceivable way.
NoSaint Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 It matters not. When EJ returns to health, he's the starting QB. Period! EOS. Agreed. Thad would have to play better than simply a W. I like him but short of probowl quality play for a month - which he hasn't had - ej gets the job back. I'm a big fan of Thad but he is a backup qb and you don't give backups the starting job. We have done that too many times.
Maury Ballstein Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 (edited) Really? I think Thad is better in every conceivable way. Yep. Your doing it again. Edited October 21, 2013 by Ryan L Billz
johnwalter Posted October 21, 2013 Author Posted October 21, 2013 i still do believe that if he goes 5-0 from here, the thought must at least be considered
Acantha Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 It matters not. When EJ returns to health, he's the starting QB. Period! EOS. Yeah, but there's always ways to delay "full health". I doubt it will happen, but if Thad wins out, I wouldn't be surprised if EJ's injury becomes lingering.
johnwalter Posted October 21, 2013 Author Posted October 21, 2013 my bad. can a mod add a "he cannot win the starting job" option to the poll?
Shouldaplayedflutie99 Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Depends how we win. I don't think performances like today for 5 weeks means he should start over ej, regardless of our record. To take ejs job he will have to be much better than what we saw today and be responsible for wins. Fred and our defense won today, thads biggest contribution was being safe with ball, thankfully. Ej is our franchise guy, and gave us no reason to doubt him.
keepthefaith Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 It's great to see a young guy like Thad get a chance and do well with it. Gotta love the guy for what he's doing.
NeverOutNick Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 I'm sure if we're 5-0 or 4-1 while EJ is out and it looks like we've got one of the playoffs spots than we'd stick with Thad (don't want another pull Flutie for Rob situation again) but anything less we go back to our franchise... this is EJ's team
Ivan Drago Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 (edited) i still do believe that if he goes 5-0 from here, the thought must at least be considered NO! NO! and NO! Edited October 21, 2013 by Ivan Drago
Gray Beard Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 I was thinking of starting a thread to discuss Thad's play. I agree that EJ will play again when healthy, but I also think the Thad is a pretty good QB and deserves some props. I like that Thad slid a few times rather than take the hit. We can't afford to let him get hurt at this point. I also think that Thad knows when to throw hard and when to have some touch on it. I think he threw behind his receivers last week, and this week he was on target more. I wish he would learn to throw it away rather than take a sack. Maybe next week he will show that he has learned that as well.
CSBill Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 if he goes 5-0, it allows EJ time to fully heal . . . but when he is totally healthy, he's the starter
KD in CA Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 This thread hurts. So the correct answer isn't 3.5?
