MattM Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 (edited) Losing Mayo was huge. He was the main man on that defense, and with Wilfork out they will be balancing on a fine line to succeed. The Pats are going to lose more games, and even if they make the playoffs, they won't go far. It isn't just their D--Brady is not "Brady" this year. Did you see his stat line this week (or most weeks this year)? He's been quite pedestrian all around.... Edited October 20, 2013 by MattM
Prickly Pete Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 I think the Pats are gonna lose enough games, that the division will be up for grabs. They are beat up, and Brady is not the same guy he was before. I would much rather watch them suffer... It isn't just their D--Brady is not "Brady" this year. Did you see his stat line this week (or most weeks this year)? He's been quite pedestrian all around.... I posted that earlier in this thread...
NoSaint Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 If you look at the actual rule (there are PFT articles on it) the play was a textbook example of that penalty. No ifs, ands or "butts".... Just poor coaching.... Player says coaches covered it in preseason and takes full responsibility
first_and_ten Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 (edited) I can't handle Dan Dierdorff. Every Patriots incomplete pass comes with an excuse why it wasn't Brady's fault. He does have one helluva man-crush on Brady..lol..why is it always "Tom" and not Brady? Does he refer to the other playes by their first names? Edited October 20, 2013 by first_and_ten
KD in CA Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 So the refs flagged the Pats for breaking a rule? Yeah, what a huge screw job.

He's been quite pedestrian all around.... I think what we're seeing is just how much of Brady being "Brady" was Welker, Gronkowski, Hernandez, and Branch
Prickly Pete Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 I think what we're seeing is just how much of Brady being "Brady" was Welker, Gronkowski, Hernandez, and Branch \ Ridiculous. Brady has been great his entire career.
Heitz Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Breakout your tinfoil hat - it was all a massive conspiracy against that Pats! I mean, how else could they have possible lost!? http://boston.barstoolsports.com/random-thoughts/nfl-changed-the-push-rule-after-they-called-it/

NoSaint Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 looks like the reports today are the jets caught the pats pulling that move the week prior, and warned the refs to keep an eye out for it. if so, great job coaching on the jets part.

BillsFan-4-Ever Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 I am hoping NE wins just because it helps Buf's wild card hopes. then you should have wished for a tie that half game means a lot. like 7.5 points that hook (.5) can be a difference maker.

That seems to be exactly what happened. Article in today's NY Times confirms it and Rex is not apologizing. The Jets were prepared and the Pats were not. If Rex gets fired at the end if the season (increasingly unlikely), the Bills should hire him immediately.
Smears Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 (edited) Ok. So the refs are always for new England? They just got hosed. No they didn't. Correct call, just not called alot. Patriots HAVE won too many games with non calls. That hold at the end of the Saints game on Nate Solder was never called. Arm wrapped around a guys body. That non call won them another game. That non call won them another game. not only was it the correct call, before the season began, NFL officials visited every team's training camp and gave a tutorial on all the new rules, including that one. Someone just wasn't paying attention.
Drop Kick Flutie Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 There is a video from September of the VP of officiating stating that the rule applied to players not on the line at the snap. NFL !@#$ed up teaching the rules.

NFL !@#$ed up teaching the rules. Nope. If that were true, then why would Ryan have known using a guy from the line was illegal. And why did Belichick admit he was wrong?
