DC Tom Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Or at least higher taxes and less military spending How appropriate you chose to post absolute nonsense in a discussion of why people shouldn't have children.
Bronc24 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I've just had my second child, three weeks ago, and I am 46. I don't look at it as selfish and no treatments or pills were needed. I simply started later in life and do a pretty damn good job as a father.
ICanSleepWhenI'mDead Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 For a more extensive summary of the same survey, published by the organization that conducted it, see: http://www.apnorc.org/PDFs/Working%20Longer/AP-NORC%20Center_Working%20Longer%20Report-FINAL.pdf A finding hinted at but not disclosed in the OP's useful but more cursory summary article: The average retirement age has shifted since the beginning of the Great Recession. Among those who report retiring before the Great Recession, the retirement average age was 57, while the average for those who retired afterwards is 62.
