Robchester Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Not sure if you could see it on TV, but the Bengals typically only sent 2 maybe 3 players out in pass patterns. That left 7-8 guys (11-2-QB) to block the blitzes that have been so effective for us in past games. The result was a ton of double teams. I guess Pettine should have made an adjustment, but he didn't seem to. By the way, Giovani Bernard is as fast as any RB I have seen. Kiko would react immediately to him leaking out into the flat, but could never quite get there in time. You could say he kept taking the wrong angle, but the right angle would have been to meet him 10 yards downfield. He just kept thinking he could get to the right spot at the line of scrimmage and couldn't.
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Those swing passes were something you'd love to see the bills working to CJ. Bernard is very good and so is the Bengal o line.
BilLions Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 We really missed Manny Lawson as soon as he went down. He's been covering the edge so well.
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 i figured there would be some pictures with the clear holding that the Bengals OL was doing and got away with it. We need an OL coach that can teach our OL how to hold blocks like Bengals did and the Pats OL has for years
