Watching the Bears on Thursday night, they called a lot of quick slants that they executed well. Seems like the Bills' offense would be well suited to that type of play call, but you never see it. Being a fast-paced offense should be about more than just no huddle. How about some speed AFTER the snap? Hackett is going to need to be more diverse and creative for the Bills to get it done today and in the coming weeks while E.J. is out. E.J. could also likely benefit from faster plays after the snap as well.

You are right. The passing game to date has been very choppy. I would love to see Thad get in a rythm. The Bills Oline is the key to today. Most guys with Thads talent level CAN play at the NFL level if you provide them with time passing and a running game.

Also the Bills would be served to take advantage of Cincy's aggressive D with some WR screens.

I think the key to the game is getting the rbs in space and getting the ball in their hands. If we try lining up and running at them directly it is going to be a long day. Cincy lbs are susceptible to the pass Harrison, Burfict, and Maualuga are not great in coverage. Quick hitters will negate the strong Cincy d-line.

The Browns had a smart game plan with various screens that worked effectively. I hope Nate has mixed in a few in his plan for today.

Quick slants and some quick hitters to Chandler are our best opportunity to beat the 8 in the box all out blitzes that the Bungals are sure to call. We need some screen plays too. Time for Hackett to show us something

Don't forget Goodwin was considered a major play maker by the coaches going into the season. He's had all week to practice too. He can get behind defenders on slant routes quick too. Cincy can hurt themselves by being too aggressive. I'm not expecting Thad to tear it up with passing but I do like how he is able to extend plays by rolling away from the pass rush. There are a lot of ways to attack this defense. One is simply running a read option attack. This just happens to be one of Thad's strengths and why the coaches feel he is a better option than some other QBs out there.
