Tcali Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 If they had a ball hawking safety to prevent big plays (which appears to be there only weakness), and Peyton stays healthy would they ever lose. If I was them, I would be happy to trade my 1st pick for a super bowl victory. smart move for them absolutely stupid one for us
Hapless Bills Fan Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Why are good players not worth very much in trade value? Seems a 2nd or 1st rounder would be fair/ Good players who are signed to reasonable contracts, or contracts they are willing to renegotiate for a trade, have trade value. A franchise player who can not negotiate a long-term contract until after this season, not so much. You are basically trading for <11 games work, from a guy who hasn't seen the field yet this season with a notoriously unpredictable and unverifiable injury, and who would have to learn your system in the middle of the season. This is not a good deal for the other team.

boyst Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 But, other than that? well, ESPN said it'd be a good deal. And ESPN said he wants to play elsewhere. And ESPN said the Bills won't ever be successful. And ESPN said ESPN.
Captain Caveman Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 well, ESPN said it'd be a good deal. And ESPN said he wants to play elsewhere. And ESPN said the Bills won't ever be successful. And ESPN said ESPN. It appears ESPN has gained consciousness. Time to bomb it back to the stone age before it starts making those killer robots.

Think of it this way, if Byrd were on, say the Panthers or the Falcons, how much draft pick compensation would you want Whaley to give up to be in THIER shoes? That is, to have a guy that you can only be sure to have for THIS season, who didn't show up for any off-season workouts or training camp, who hasn't played the first 5 games for supposed injury concerns, who seemingly is a me first guy, and who apparently (along with his biggest butthole on the planet agent), thinks he should be getting Gholson money. Oh, and how's that working out for Tampa bay so far, BTW???? And now, realize that this is precisely what we are asking some other team's GM to do, just for the privilege of stepping into the Bills' shoes. Yeah step right up and lay your first rounders on the table boys, have we gotta deal for YOU!! Edited October 9, 2013 by BuffaloBob

Nikademus Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 But do the Bills want the last pick in the first round? Every year!

Over 29 years of fanhood Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Question: If you were Denver, why would you not give... Answer: because there are none available worth that kind of pick.
