Pine Barrens Mafia Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 You're on SERIOUS drugs man. How you think the Pats will score 35 on the Steelers IN Pgh when they could only score 20 on the Colts at home is BEYOND insanity! And as for Dillon, who cares? The Steelers can stop him AND shut down the Pats' passing attack, just like they did on Halloween, and just like the Colts did for the first half, only to see their offense do NOTHING. And again, it's a road playoff game for the Pats, Belichick doesn't have 2 weeks to prepare for it, and the Pats won't have Law this time OR Seymour at 100%. 208252 OK, so I exaggerated. Still think the pats hang a 14+ point loss on the Squeelers. Belichick WILl rent out space in Roethlisbergerererrerer's head.

Belichick WILl rent out space in Roethlisbergerererrerer's head. He didn't when Roethlisberger was even MORE green, at the mipoint of the season, and with the Pats healthier than they are now and on a roll. I see the Steelers forcing Brady into several errors and their offense capitalizing by running, running, and running some more. There is no Bledsoe to save them this time around.

Pine Barrens Mafia Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Sorry if it's the truth. 208265 Seriously, what in tarnation makes you think this guy is salvageable? his numbers are barely passable for a starting NFL QB.
Fixxxer Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 why were you watching the game in Spanish? 208224 Because I'm from Argentina.
kasper13 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 If the Colts would have learned from last year, they would not have spent $160 million on a QB and a WR that can't play outside in January. They would have gotten a better defense and it would have been a closer game. I will be a Steelers fan this week. Maybe NE playing on the road will change things.
stevestojan Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Because I'm from Argentina. 208276 ahhh..
Mark Vader Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 The Colts WR's should be ashamed of their performances today. You can not put the blame on Manning for this one. Having said that, You have to give the Patriots a lot of credit, they went out and did what they had to do and win. In the preseason I predicted a Colts-Eagles Super Bowl, and now that has to change. Bill Belichick may very well be the best coach in the NFL right now. Although I would'nt diminish the seasons that Bill Cowher & Marty Schottenheimer had this season. This should be a very exciting AFC Championship game. Will it be smash mouth football, with lots of Bettis, Dillon, Faulk, & Staley? Or will it be a lot of gunslinging from Brady & Roethlisberger? I'll have a prediction on this game later in the week. I don't think I'll be cheering for any team, so I'll be watching out of pure interest. It should be great football, and thats all I care about. Although I would'nt mind seeing Rodney Harrison getting clocked by one of the Steelers WR's. That would be sweet.
gmac17 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Because I'm from Argentina. then shouldn't you have been listening in argentinian? duh.

When your team is doing that, you don't need very many points; because the other team will have so few possessions. Anyway, you yourself will have fewer possessions, because of your own clock-eating efforts.
patswhiponthebills Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 pats stopped at 20 points, and btw,20 points in those horrible conditions is pretty good. first of all,the pats already had a week to prepare for pitt earlier in the season.you dont think the pats learned some things from the last time they played pitt? its a different part of the season now. and i would bet anything that the n.e coaching staff has been (in a way)preparing for pitt since these playoffs began.i doubt that belichick was expecting to play the jets in the playoffs in the afcecg. they will plan for this harder then ever. with a healthy dillon and branch thrown in for this game. and a much improved game plan on defense and pre-paring harder this time against pitt. belichicks record in rematches is incredible. again,im sure belichick and the boys have been pre-paring for pitt since the last time they seen them, knowing they will most likely face them again. ben fraudlisberger must have stayed in church praying for hours today to the football gods allowing the steelers to squeak by the jets.

The Steelers in Pittsburgh are not scary during the playoffs (see Jets game) 2. This isn't October, when the Pats aren't in PO mode, and later lose to Miami 3. WE scored almost 30 points on them. You SEVERELY underestimate the Pats ability to WIN PLAYOFF GAMES, and the Steelers ineptitude during the playoffs. I will say 31-13 Patriots.

That last part is rich. How many hours has Brady been in church, for all the times the Pats have "squeaked by" teams? Oh and likewise, I'm sure the Steelers have been expecting to meet the Pats again and haven't stood still in their preparation for them. Hell they might have even devoted a part of the bye week for it as well. And again, scoring a paltry 6 points at home in the first half against a weak, undersized, and wimpy Colts defense isn't exactly the stuff of legends. But I guess we'll see won't we?
Greg de'Ville Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 ...it also helps when you have an "animal" like Tedy Bruschi in your front seven. He was all over the place Sunday night, wreaking havoc. That was as good a defensive effort that you'll see. It will be interesting to see what NE will do Sunday to slow the Bus and Staley down. What impressed me about Brady and the Patsies' offense was its third down efficiency--moving the chains and chewing up the clock. When they needed a third down pickup, even deep in their own territory, the Patsies got it time and again. With a healthy Dillon this time around, who cares if the game's at The Mustard. The Patsies are the champs until dethroned. They have a very good chance to knock off the Steelers. Frankly, Pgh used up all of their nine lives in escaping the Dog-Ass Jets. The Patsies are NOT the Dog-Ass Jets. Big difference.
rockpile Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 disclaimer: I still hate the Pats and everything they stand for... 208142 I will join that parade. Truth hurts though!
Terry Tate Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 If you STILL don't accept Bill Belichick as the best analyst and strategist in football today, your head is in the sand. Even when a colts WR DID drop a ball, there was a DB right on him to make the hit or make the catch difficult. 208092 Not just in the right place, but able to tackle properly. A big difference when the first guy there makes the tackle, and good defenses have more of those than not. Are all the poor tackling defense teams now out of the playoffs? I really don't want to watch any more Seattle or St Louis-type defenses.
Dawgg Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 AKC would disagree with you. If you STILL don't accept Bill Belichick as the best analyst and strategist in football today, your head is in the sand. Even when a colts WR DID drop a ball, there was a DB right on him to make the hit or make the catch difficult. It wasn't Earthwind Fuggin Moreland, Randal Fuggin Gay, Troy Fuggin Brown and Hank Fuggin Poteat that shut down the NFL's most prolific passing offense of ALL TIME. It was Belichick, who has studied the colts and has the unique eye to read all of their offensive concepts and exploit them. You wanna tell me that those 3 stud receivers couldn't get open? Why? Because Belichick knew every one of their tendencies, pre snap, according to alignment and their statistics. He simplifies and boils down these concepts for each player and communicates them personally. He tells each player what 3 things they can do to help the team win, be it "if you see Edgerrin in this formation, don't ever think he's staying in to block", or "Rian Diem doesn't like *this*. Do *this* early and often, and you'll get in his head", and so on. These little items are on TOP of his overarching strategy and scheme. He's the best in football, and if he wins the SB again this year, which i believe he will (despite not having Seymore, which so many people made a big deal about, and his two best DBs) then he will be the best football strategist of all time. Do yourself a favor and stop denying it. It will save you from the pain of crow eating in the end. Belichick is the best, and as long as he's there, the Bills are going to have a tough time ever getting to the SB. That being said, I think Tony Dungy is soft. Nice guy, soft coach. 208092

I think the Browns are waiting on Crennel for their HC vacancy and will make an offer once the Pats' post-season is over.
