Pete Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 We drafted Antwain Smith in the first round and passed on Corey Dillon due to some character issues. In a chaotic way this team would be much different. Who knows perhaps Todd Collins or even RJ would of been succesful if they had a back of Dillons caliber the past 9 years
Grant Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Would both backs have still ended up with the Patriots?
RuntheDamnBall Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 What if we hadn't drafted JD Williams? We would have won 4 Super Bowls. I guarantee it.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I wanted Dillon over Antowain back then. However Dillon is a cretin and I'm glad the Bills never drafted him. If there is a football god, and I'm starting to doubt it, Dillon will never win a SB.
Hawk Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 What if we had drafted Joe Montana and Jerry Rice,,(we passed on both btw)... This thread is stupid

I think Dillon is still aticking time bomb. This is his 1st year with the Pats. Wait until they win another SB or he gets into a contract dispute or if the Pats act like they normally do and draft another promising back who plays well enough for a competition to ensue. Guys like Dillon with ego's like that simply WONT keep their yaps shut for ever! Really id rather not take EITHER in hindsight.

This thread is stupid 208006[/snapback] Um which QB did we select over Joe Montana? Which WR over Jerry Rice? The fact is in the 1997 draft we were going RB all the way with our first selection. We chose Smith over Dillon because Butler and Levy beleived in character of players. In a Butterfly Effect kind of way it would of been a much different journey
