I have been ripping this guy from day #1, arguing that we should have never cut Moorman.

 

Everyone was intrigued with this joker's leg strength-- but my point was that punter (like kicker) is a position where you go with the less risky veteran, than an unproven rookie. The difference between Powell and Moorman's big kicks is marginal. But even if it wasn't, you get the consistency and lack of choking from Moorman.

 

If Powell isn't shanking punts, he's kicking line-drives or almost getting kicks blocked. Absolutely embarrassing.

On the near block, the guy that came in was completely unblocked. It's actually to Powell's credit that he got the ball away on that one.

That's fair. But there were three other near-blocks in the game too. Nonetheless, that's the least of Powell's worries. He just doesn't seem to have the mental toughness to play the position.
