KD in CA
Same old Bills; cut corners to save a few bucks by finding a bargin basement LG, back up QB who has no business in the NFL, refuse to sign your best defensive player, etc. Add Levitre, Byrd and a back QB to this team and they are 4-1. Â As long as the crypt keeper is still breathing, nothing will ever change.

BuffaloBaumer
Â A veteran backup QB is not taking this young team to the playoffs. It's a moot point in the short term. Â actually, it's incredibly important point because a mediocre quarterback would have won this game and if EJ Manuel plays next week,it could turn out to be an even bigger mistake with this loss
Pirate Angel
Not signing a veteran Backup most likely has to do with avoiding a QB controversy . Letting EJ grow without having someone breath down his neck. Avoiding a divided locker room. Possibly saving this board from having 10,000 posts about benching him every time he has a bad play. GG
Yeah, we should have kept Kolb and Leinert. Â Ah,no. They had a perfectly serviceable QB on the roster in March.
kasper13
Going to go 2-14 if Tuel is the starter for very long. What do they do if EJ is out for awhile? Going to just give up on the season? Maybe they win tonight if they had a capable backup. It was a winnable game. They could be 3-2 or 4-1 right now. Have to have a veteran backup QB in this league. Otherwise, you have very little chance to win.

As long as the crypt keeper is still breathing, nothing will ever change. This argument is so crazy. Yeah Wilson said don't spend money on players while he's trying to stay alive. C'mon man. We have injuries crippling this team and a terrible performance by the special teams. If our QB stays in the game we have an excellent chance to win. Yet somehow you think a LG, backup QB, and a piece of crap safety would make us 4-1? Weak!

DDD
Hindsight is 20/20 but to go into a NFL season with two rookie QB's is only something the Bills would do.
Simon
actually, it's incredibly important point because a mediocre quarterback would have won this game and if EJ Manuel plays next week,it could turn out to be an even bigger mistake with this loss This is a team full of rookies, it's not designed to win this year. The Bills needed young QB's added to the franchise so they did and they're learning about both of them right now. A veteran backup is an irrelevancy until next year. Of course well never know, but we sure have a much better chance than we did with Tuel and he only really lost it with 2 minutes left.
MDH
A veteran backup QB is not taking this young team to the playoffs. It's a moot point in the short term. Â True, but you owe it to the guys on the team and the fans to try and put the best product out there. Carrying two QBs one of which is a rookie FA isn't a good idea. Having a veteran back-up doesn't mean there will be a QB controversy. It's merely an insurance policy that the Bills were unwilling to take out. It exemplifies a significant lack of judgement.
