BuffaloBillsForever Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Hackettball is an up-tempo, hurry-up, 3 and out variant of the Marty Schottenheimer run, run , pass offensive scheme derived by Nathaniel Hackett. Hackettball consits of executing a predictable running play inside the tackles on 1st and 2nd down (sometimes the exact same play) to setup a passing play on 3rd down. Punting on 4th down, gassing the defense as quickly as possible.
HailMary Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Clearly a 2 year plan with EJ and this offence. We may see an arial attack by week 14.

n3wyork13 Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 I Still cant for the life of me figure out why in the 2nd qtr after we ran the ball like 4 times in a row...and got decent yardage, on that 3rd and 2 we went shotgun, and tried to throw the damn ball...
MDH Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 A punt return for a TD. A defensive TD. #1 WR out of game. #1 QB out of game. #1 RB limited carries due to injury. Bills' fans blame the OC for the loss. Interesting.
Captain Hindsight Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Had no problem with the play calling tonight. If Ej doesnt get hurt and we can cover a freaking punt we win by 10
BillsBytheBay Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Can't hackett Can't Hackett Can't Hackett Can't Hackett And delete my comment. I dont care, still won't change, just can't Hackett.

Not only that but we did that same thing on 2 consecutive series. Mind-blowing.

Bangarang Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 (edited) A punt return for a TD. A defensive TD. #1 WR out of game. #1 QB out of game. #1 RB limited carries due to injury. Bills' fans blame the OC for the loss. Interesting. That's one way to look at it. Another way is to state the obvious. Hackett is terrible at play calling. People on message boards are calling out plays like crazy. How many times have we run the ball on first down this season? It's got to be at least 85% of the time. Edited October 4, 2013 by Bangarang
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Jauron was able to stop us because we went run/run/pass -- the very same offense he ran when he was here.

IIRC I saw at least 3 times we started it out with PA on first down.
BillsBytheBay Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 (edited) Are Fitzpatrick and Galiey really better? I mean really? Convince me that our ole offense is not superior. REALLY. (I'm taking into account that EJ is more fragile than RGIII) Edited October 4, 2013 by JaxBills

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 I think you mean Ray Horton... Whoops. No wonder the browns defense blitzed.

People on message boards are calling out plays like crazy. How many times have we run the ball on first down this season? It's got to be at least 85% of the time. Hacket's predictability defeats the very purpose of running the no-huddle. All I see is an up-tempo Steve Fairchild. I am going to try to not hang myself off the shower rod tonight. You said it, he is a terrible play-caller.
Nuncha Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 (edited) I think he ran it on 1st down 99% of the time tonight. WTF doesn't he mix it up more on 1st down? Edited October 4, 2013 by Azucho98
Kelly the Dog Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 I think he ran it on 1st down 99% of the time tonight. WTF doesn't he mix it up more on 1st down? I was complaining like crazy that Hackett was calling running plays on first down every single time. Until on first down on a running play CJ went 54 yards for a TD.
