mead107 Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 With all the work that they just signed and the backlog of work on the books it looks like greedy GE wants more. We have hired 200 new hourly to ramp up for all the work over this year. For the last 3 years they have been hiring at $10 dollars less per hour.

KD in CA Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 So what is the $/hr they're making coming in? Yes, this would be important information. $10/hr less than what? A million?
ExiledInIllinois Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 mead, if you don't mind me asking... What does GE make in Schenectady?
mead107 Posted October 2, 2013 Author Posted October 2, 2013 Generators and turbines for power plants. Plus winds HQs and the new batterie plant that employs about 300 people Wages now start at $15 and go up for hourly. GE has not been in the top 100 places to work for in a very long time.
Joe Miner Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 I went to Schenectady once for a training class... Next year I was able to pick the followup class in Charleston, SC.
