zazie Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Did I miss something? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naaman_Roosevelt
prissythecat Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 You do realize that anyone can go into wikipedia and make an editing change?
Badasss Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 (edited) I didnt find his name on the Steelers' roster. Does Pittsburgh have an Arena League team? Edited September 28, 2013 by Badasss

dascottbills28 Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Does anybody really care? He was a practice squad guy that was occasionally called up when injuries hit. He couldnt even start on a crappy wr group that we had the past few years.
ChevyVanMiller Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Does anybody really care? He was a practice squad guy that was occasionally called up when injuries hit. He couldnt even start on a crappy wr group that we had the past few years. He is a Buffalo kid that played his tail off every practice and every game and I know I speak for many when I say I hope he gets another shot somewhere to contribute.
Gugny Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Does anybody really care? He was a practice squad guy that was occasionally called up when injuries hit. He couldnt even start on a crappy wr group that we had the past few years. The OP cared. I care - I always liked Roosevelt. If you don't care, perhaps you should have simply moved on, rather than post something unnecessarily obnoxious. Just a thought. Have a great day!!
NoSaint Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 (edited) He is a Buffalo kid that played his tail off every practice and every game and I know I speak for many when I say I hope he gets another shot somewhere to contribute. Would always like to see him succeed and think the other poster was too extreme in his sentiment, but realistically Roosevelt is likely about done. He's only in a spot to be plug and play in Cleveland - which if they make a trade (Gordon) and lose a guy or two to injury he may get a call - but as the years pass he's losing practice squad eligibility and league minimum pay for a vet gets higher and higher. You want the answer to why nfl careers are 3-4 years? It's because minimum pay nearly doubles by the 4th year and there's no more stashing guys - they've got to earn that spot with play if a rookie has similar potential Edited September 28, 2013 by NoSaint
Johnny Hammersticks Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Man, we really screwed up when we let him go.
CardinalScotts Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 i think we've all seen namaan play - no one will be signing him. Man, we really screwed up when we let him go. and Ruvell Martin, and Donald Jones, and David Nelson - Fitz really had some "players"
FluffHead Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Good story that he's a local kid. But the fact that he's local always made people around here think he was more than he is.
The Helmet of Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 the only thing you've missed is the fact that there is a staggering amount of misinformation on wikipedia, and in the world more generally...
Badasss Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 NFL players from WNY and/or UB are pretty rare. When someone from the area can actually make the NFL, it's considered to be a big deal, regardless of whether or not he's an 'impact' player.
MyHorseAteTheKid Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 He is a Buffalo kid that played his tail off every practice and every game and I know I speak for many when I say I hope he gets another shot somewhere to contribute. Thank You. Feel the same way!
Meatloaf Sandwich Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 He is a Buffalo kid that played his tail off every practice and every game and I know I speak for many when I say I hope he gets another shot somewhere to contribute. Insert just about every bad player that ever tried out for the Bills ever. Yea we know you guys like swell guys which is why Fitz was allowed to hang around for so long.
Nanker Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Man, we really screwed up when we let him go. Not as bad as when they didn't sign Olof Pilar. Man, they screwed the pooch on that one.
1B4IDie Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 I didnt find his name on the Steelers' roster. Does Pittsburgh have an Arena League team? Actually now that you mention it . . . Arena league is starting up again. He'd be perfect for Arena league. Quick not fast with good hands.
