How is it exactly that republicans plan or are making an effort to keep people from seeing doctors? While you're at it, tell us why the ACA was an excellent solution in terms of reducing health insurance costs for the masses.

the elderly? not so much except for the few that don't qualify for medicare. the 30 million or so that will now be insured and weren't before? yeah, without the aca they mostly wouldn't be seeing doctors except in an emergency. per insured person, utilization of healthcare resources is starting to decrease so this may well be reflected in decreased insurance costs, especially since insurance industry profit margins are now capped. why don't we see what actually happens once the program is up and running before declaring it a failure?

You still aren't listening.

There is a civil war going on in the GOP right now. The small government conservatives and principled libertarians have come to the realization that they can't beat the liberals until they've drained the swamp and taken control of their own party, and that's exactly what they're doing.

Once they drain the swamp what do they do? All of the sudden start attracting more people? The same people they just drained? Or the ones too liberal to have been w/ the GOP before that?

"Why don't we see what actually happens, before declaring it a failure."

as a fellow health professional, you know that that is NOT the way to address something with known problems.

.

This is actually a great post. Several layers of irony.

Have seen enough already. More than 100% increase in our premiums here over the past 3 years. More large increases coming and much of these increases directly attributable to the ACA with its' fees, taxes and mandated changes. Coverage options to an extent now being dictated to us. Rates have risen so high that some employees here may choose to go without and pay the fine next year. These are people who had been covered.

As for the country as a whole, changing the rules for 90% of people to address an issue with 10% of the people is just dumb unless you are a politician who needs a steady supply of dependent voters to get elected. The issues with 10% of the population could have and should have been addressed more simply. NOBODY is going to pay lower premiums as a result of this new law unless they are being subsidized by the rest.

Once again, Dems create dependency, debt and place a greater burden on the productive class and declare victory.
