biggerdaddynj Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 ProFootballFocus.com, a website with some football analytics has proof of something we didn't know about Colin Brown he sucks ... in an historical sense!!!! https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2013/09/27/3tfo-ravens-bills-week-4-%E2%80%8E/ What Can Brown Do For The Bills? Colin Brown is clearly the weak link along the Bills’ offensive line and continues to follow up poor performances with even worse performances (-7.8, -8.3, -9.6 Weeks 1 through 3). Considering that he already has the second-worst cumulative season grade for guards since we started grading in 2008, it is remarkable that he still has a starting job. His Pass Blocking Efficiency of 89.1 is the lowest for guards and he has accounted for 18 of the offensive line’s 35 pressures allowed. Brown has another difficult task ahead of him because Haloti Ngata (+5.4) will be on the other side of the line. Because the rest of the Bills’ offensive line has performed decently, expect the Ravens to put Ngata in position to face Brown as much as possible. There is plenty of the season left to turn it around, but if he continues to play so poorly, it wouldn’t be surprising if they start to consider other options.
Captain Hindsight Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Now that Legursky is back we at least have another option but before we didn't so it was a moot point
Meark Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 How did Colin Brown and Sam Young even make the team.. There has to be better out there on someone's practice squad..
Storm Front Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Man, you'd think there would be better guys out there who played college ball and didn't even get drafted.

Worthless player
RussellDopeland Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Frankly I'd rather the Bills brought back any of the guys they cut at the end of camp (Caldwell, Snow, Sanders) and gave one of them a shot. Brown needs to be released.
8-8 Forever? Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 How did Colin Brown and Sam Young even make the team.. There has to be better out there on someone's practice squad.. Wow. Ngata will destroy Colin Brown. that will be ugly. I almost want to watch that matchup to see what total destruction looks like in the NFL trenches. What a mess that will be.
Cash Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I think in one of the many Levitre threads during the offseason, a couple of posters made the argument that having a good O-line isn't necessarily about having star players, but about not having any scrubs. (I think it was part of a larger discussion about how best to put resources into the line -- maybe a draft thread discussing 1 of the 1st-round guards?) I think it's generally a pretty good sentiment -- the crux of the idea is that you don't get to decide where the D lines up, and they'll always attack your weakest link, so it doesn't really matter how good your LT is if someone else sucks. I think that's really coming home to roost. Brown has gone up against Vince Wilfork, Star Lotulelei, and a Muhammed Wilkerson/Sheldon Richardson combo in his first 3 weeks, and he'll be going up against Ngata and/or Arthur Jones this week. The opposing D-line really only needs 1 good player and a decent DC to be able to isolate our worst player against a guy he can't come close to handling. The Jets were frequently sending Glenn's man way wide in order to functionally turn Brown into a LT and give Wilkerson space to beat him on the outside. Other teams may follow suit, especially if they don't have a great DT to send at Brown.
Dragonborn10 Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Your FO is working tirelessly to find ways to improve the team...just stop worrying. All is fine with the line. These are not the LG's you are looking for...
The Big Cat Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 (edited) Agreed. Cut him Yesterday already!! Worthless player I'll bet your also in wth the crowd that thinks the FO is inept because they can't build depth... Edited September 27, 2013 by The Big Cat
Proteus Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I'll bet your also in wth the crowd that thinks the FO is inept because they can't build depth... Wait, is there seriously any debate as to whether this front office is inept?
The Big Cat Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Wait, is there seriously any debate as to whether this front office is inept? The one that's had the reign for 12 quarters of football now? Yes.
