The PAtriots ask Pro Bowl Player to take pay cuts all the time. Why are we shocked that TD would ask Drew to take a pay cut. I think if Drew feels he'll get shot to be the #1 guy and thinks he has enough left in the tank he stays.

If he thinks the job is going to be handed to Loseman, than he gets out, goes to the NFC where coaches and players are not familiar with him.

Goes to one last play off, one last pro bowl and retires with 43000 yards and a chance to got the HOF.

Well, it's obviously feeding time for the lab monkeys.  Nothing better than 120+ post thread based on a speculative rumor of the "ever reliable" Chris Mortenson.  Good stuff. :)

We'll see if TD says anything tomorrow to refute Mort's report.

I'm guessing he won't. <_<

Of course he won't. And based on that we know...absolutely nothing. Why should TD address every rumor that comes up?

Riddle me this. If a team, any team, took a RB in the late second round of a draft, and that player had a solid rookie season splitting time (around 700 yards), then had back to back excellent years, with 2800 yards and 25 touchdowns, and then got hurt for most of his 4th year and didn't play much, wouldn't that team think they made an excellent econd round draft pick? Even with the one bad year and injury? I know if I was a GM and I got that player with the 20th or so pick of the second round, I would be happy if not thrilled.

Therefore, Travis Henry is worth a second round pick. Furthermore, I see no reason why a team that needs a RB would not trade a #3 for Travis which goes to a #2 if he starts and has a productive year and which goes to a #1 if he gets 1400 yards and 12 TDs or so.

Besides, look for Drew to take a million or two pay cut and remain with the Bills. He is not going to get 5 million from another team with a brand new deal. TD is just playing smart and Drew will look at the big picture. No one, including you, and Drew, and TD, knew for sure how Drew was going to play this year in the new offense. He ended up being a tease, as usual, and there is no definitive answer as to whether the Bills are better with him or without him. This demand of a paycut is just good football smarts by TD. As a GM you always need to put a price tag on what you think each player is worth to your team. He now knows what he may have in Losman, and he knows that Drew did pretty good in MM's offense but not great. He now thinks with those two peices of knowledge that Bledsoe's worth is different than last year. DB would be worth more if he played better or Losman looked worse.

Sorry, I joined in late, at a bar watching the games all day. I am glad that I am not the only one who saw Mort's report, and didn't come to the automatic conclusion that Drew will be an ex-Bill. I think he will take that pay cut the Bills ask for.

Think about it. What team is going to pay him what the Bills are paying him at this point? On top of that, more importantly, What team could Bledsoe go to and be guaranteed a starting spot? I can't think of one, except possibly Clevland, if they don't hang on to Garcia, and Romeo Crennel (the Pats DC, rumoured to be the front runner for the Browns job) wants a QB he is familiar with in his first HC stint. Virtually every other NFL team has an established starter, or a highly touted prospect (like Losman). And none of those teams seem on the cusp of taking that next step up, as the Bills do.

If Bledsoe goes elsewhere, he is likely to be in exactly the same situation all over again. He is a family guy. He seems to genuinely like Buffalo (even though the feeling doesn't appear mutual) and he seems like well liked by his teammates, his coaches, and the team owner. And, Bledsoe has said numerous times that money is not a huge priority for him at this point. As much as he is despised by many fans, the guy has always been a team player. He will play, or he will back-up Losman without being a cancer. Buffalo is a team on the rise. Bledsoe knows that.

that is absolutely right. Travis is proven a rookie is not. I will also add that if in January we're hearing rumors that Travis will hand us a 2nd rounder the posibility of getting a first rounder approaching draft day isn't far fetched if two teams show big interest in him.

Well...The thing is AD, it's common knowledge that TD and Mort are joined at the hip...I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that anything Mort reports as "inside info" concerning the Bills comes directly from the mouth of TD...Mort is by far TD's biggest Fan...always has been...well at least since they worked together at ESPN...I think it's a pretty safe bet that this story has validity...

For what it's worth anyway...

Brunell has a cap hit of 2004 cap hit of $8.75 million but Ramsey is the QB of the future behind him.

207406[/snapback]

A very reliable source within the Skins org, says Ramsey isn't their future. They are seriously looking at the QB from Utah. They are cutting bait with both of these guys this year. This from a team that need major upgrading at both lines, they still are considering, seriously spending a #1 on a Qb, and going with him from day 1.

That's stupid. They should go OL, and sign Todd Collins.
