gmac17 Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 I was a little surprised to see Pennington laughing around with big Ben after the game. After a gut wrenching loss in which you led the offense to 3 points, I'd shake hands and walk off the field.... Pic of Chad's Post Game Smiles
SouthTownBills51 Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Let's see if he'll be laughing when he addresses the new york media when he gets back..
MadBuffaloDisease Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Chad is a realist. He knows his team shouldn't have even made it that far and had no chance at the SB, his kicker is the one everyone will be calling the goat, and he's still getting paid.
gmac17 Posted January 16, 2005 Author Posted January 16, 2005 his kicker is the one everyone will be calling the goat, and he's still getting paid. I just heard that in 8.5 quarters in Pittsburgh this season, the jets ran 1 play in the red zone. holy stevestojan
MadBuffaloDisease Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Dang. Maybe the Bills should have kept LeBeau?
Golden Wheels Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 If I was a teammate like Curtis Martin, knowing my chances to get to a super bowl are running out and I've played my ass off, I'd be pretty pissed at Pennington. Chad was acting like it was just another payday.
The Poojer Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Do you work for fox sports? trying to make a big deal out of absolutely nothing? jeez man, these guys did thier job, they got paid for it, what more do you want? if you lose a contract, bid or sale at your work, are you incapable of laughing and or smiling afterwards? common man, let these guys be the people they are, just like we would expect of ourselves. I was a little surprised to see Pennington laughing around with big Ben after the game. After a gut wrenching loss in which you led the offense to 3 points, I'd shake hands and walk off the field.... CajunBillsBacker Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 I think it was more of good sportsmanship than him not caring that they loss. I'm sure he was feeling the loss.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Maybe Ben said something hilarious like "I'm the reason we won?"
Coach Tuesday Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Hey Gmac- your avatar reminded me of this article: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6821600 Ali G’ character causes near riot at rodeo Crowd turns ‘downright nasty’ after ‘Borat’ garbles national anthem Updated: 1:28 p.m. ET Jan. 13, 2005LONDON - British comedian Sasha Baron Cohen escaped a near-riot at an American rodeo while filming his satirical “Da Ali G Show.” According to a report in the Roanoke (Virginia) Times, a man who was introduced as Boraq Sagdiyev from Kazakhstan — in reality a Cohen character named Borat — appeared at the rodeo over the weekend after organizers agreed to have him sing the national anthem. After telling the crowd he supported America’s war on terrorism, he said, “I hope you kill every man, woman and child in Iraq, down to the lizards ... And may George W. Bush drink the blood of every man, woman and child in Iraq.” He then sang a garbled version of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” The Roanoke Times reported that the crowd turned “downright nasty.” One observer said “If he had been out there a minute longer, I think somebody would have shot him.” Cohen and his film crew were escorted out of the Salem Civic Center and told to leave the premises. “Had we not gotten them out of there, there would have been a riot,” rodeo producer Bobby Rowe told the paper. “They loaded up the van and they screeched out of there.” It is not the first time Cohen has wooed controversy with his show, which airs on HBO. In one episode last year, Borat sang an anti-Semitic song called “Throw the Jew Down the Well” at a country music bar, prompting protests from the Anti-Defamation League. Producers of the Ali G show, Talkback Thames, were unavailable for comment.

You are the President of a company, and you make a pitch to land the biggest customer your company has ever seen. If you land the customer, it will be a huge deal not only for you, but for the entire company. You lose the deal during a high stakes meeting. Would you be joking around 2 minutes after the meeting ends?
gmac17 Posted January 16, 2005 Author Posted January 16, 2005 Hey Gmac- your avatar reminded me of this article: I saw that, Borat is one of the great comedy characters of all time!
Coach Tuesday Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 I saw that, Borat is one of the great comedy characters of all time! 207131 Agreed - he is my favorite since Andy Kaufman. And I agree with you that Chad shouldn't have been taking the loss so lightly...
d_wag Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 at least pennington played.......that is more then john "moneybags" abraham can say.......if the NY media is going to slay someone, it should be him.........
Ozymandius Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 I was a little surprised to see Pennington laughing around with big Ben after the game. After a gut wrenching loss in which you led the offense to 3 points, I'd shake hands and walk off the field.... Pic of Chad's Post Game Smiles 207091 He smiled because he felt privileged to play a playoff game against some of the finest athletes in the world.
Tom Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Chad is a realist. He knows his team shouldn't have even made it that far and had no chance at the SB, his kicker is the one everyone will be calling the goat, and he's still getting paid. You cannot be serious... Do you know him personally & what does that have to do with being 'happy' after the loss????
MadBuffaloDisease Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 You cannot be serious... Do you know him personally & what does that have to do with being 'happy' after the loss???? I've learned a thing or two over the years. First of all, with pro players, it's ALWAYS about the money. Second of all, you'd think these guys hate each other, but they hang-out in the off-season. Hell Bruce Smith and Richmond Webb were great friends! And as I said, maybe Roethlisberger said something funny and Pennington found it funny, and laughed. I don't think he'd go into major depression to the point of not being able to laugh, after a loss in a game where the Jets weren't even predicted to make, let alone win.
stevestojan Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 was he possibly laughing at the AWFUL coahcing effort of the entire NYJ staff? You have 35 seconds left, you have 3 TOs, your kicker just missed a 40 yarder SHORT, and instead of trying to get 10 or 20 more yards, you not only run the ball up the gut, showing no attempt to do anything positive, but you THEN KNEEL DOWN AND LOSE 1.5 - 2 YARDS???? WTF was Herm thinking? Really - some of the worst coaching EVER.
gmac17 Posted January 16, 2005 Author Posted January 16, 2005 You have 35 seconds left, you have 3 TOs, your kicker just missed a 40 yarder SHORT, the first field goal was 47 yards, not 40.
