Searcy is not extremely talented but he makes plays, including special teams. As I have said many times, the man gives it all he's got on every play. He would have a roster spot on my team any day, and at some point I expect him to be a coach.

I thought Searcy was gonna be a complete liability based on the pre season....I am glad I was wrong.

This is my take too.

I consider him a run defender still. Pettine is starting to work his magic on these kids though.

I am pretty cool with S'norris today.

Now if Mike P could sort out Moats a bit better.....

 

I want A Williams as my in the box safety when/if Byrd comes back.

He is hitting very hard and sees the ball, takes the good angles. Still needs work but like Searcy improving nicely

 

I would suspect the aggressive pass rush has a lot to do with the unexpected early season success of the secondary. Which gives us hope that it could be even better with Gilmore and Byrd, etc.

It is that but its also these guys are communicating very well . even more kudos for a new group. and high fives for coaches dialing the kids into the same conference call. Not like last years confusion thats for sure

I thought the same thing until the redskins traded champ bailey for portis

yes but Champ was like 64 years old back then. a matter of need i suppose
