Politico Wants to Pretends that 'Talk Turns to Gun Control'

 

In its Tuesday lead piece, the left-wing Politico attempts to "manipulate lead the conversation" with an article titled: "After Shooting, Talk Turns to Gun Control."

This is wishcasting on Politico's part, not reporting;

this is Politico pushing an agenda, not documenting what is actually happening;

this is Politico hoping to craft a reality, not reporting on a reality.

 

We are three hours into news cycle the day after Monday's horrific Navy Yard shooting, and not even Morning Joe is talking about gun control. Certainly gun control is being mentioned, but what America and the media are "talking about" this morning is how someone with documented psychological problems, like Aaron Alexis, received government clearance.

 

Sure, the bottom-feeding carnival barkers still smarting from their last gun control loss -- the New York Daily News and CNN's Piers Morgan -- quickly exploited a dozen murders for personal and political gain. Because that is what they do.

 

But Chuck Todd is not talking about gun control. In fact, on his MSNBC show The Daily Rundown, Todd wondered if the Navy Yard shooting would revive talk about gun control. The Washington Post isn't talking about gun control, nor is the New York Times…. not even the L.A. Times… not even CNN (except for the low-rated carnival barker).

 

So, no, "talk" has not turned to gun control. The left-wing Politico is just saying it has in the hopes of fooling media fools into jumping on a bandwagon that won't exist until they jump on it.

 

And judging by the latest news about the shooter, that is not likely to happen

No, the talk will still turn to gun control. A mentally ill person with a history of violence was allowed to buy a gun AND got a clearance.

 

(Never mind that "mentally ill" and "history of violence" were BOTH anecdotal, as he was never treated for the first nor charged for any of the second, so there was no official record that would have shown up in ANY sort of check.)

New York Times gets it wrong, media obsessed with linking AR-15 with Navy Yard shooter

The liberal media is so obsessed with linking the Navy Yard shooter with the AR-15 rifle that it is making up false tales of Aaron Alexis trying to obtain one.

The New York Times attempts to give the impression that a so-called assault-weapon law stopped Alexis from buying a rifle in Virginia, but that is not true.

So now the MSM narrative will magically transform this mass murder from ‘yet another damning indictment of gun-toting, right-wing racist America’ to ‘the completely isolated actions of a misunderstood victim of society.’

 

Just watch. It happens every time. And every time, they think we won’t notice. Meanwhile, their ratings and their circulation numbers continue to plummet, and they blame everybody but themselves.”

It's Bush's fault. If he wasn't such a bad President, this guy never would have gone nuts like he did.

If that doesn't work, it's the sequester, or just-say-no Republicans, or the Benghazi inquiry, or fast and furious, or the super-size soft drink ban was overturned in NYC. It'll be SOMETHING. It's got to be somebody's fault.

Oh of course, and, if anyone dares to say anything about this story other than their "victim of society" thing? They will call that person a racist.

 

Leftists have an impossible time with blaming themselves for their own failures. This is precisely why they always want to talk about gun control, rather than: education, welfare, single mothers, moral standards, and protecting children from predators.

 

See, they actually believe that they are superior beings. Therefore, when they F up, it's impossible for them to contemplate, never mind accept.

Actually, if it bills itself as media, as opposed to entertainment, that would be fraud. Which is why the punditry portions of MSNBC, CNN, and FOX bill themselves as news entertainment.

Dare a top newspaper journalist to play connect-the-dots and chances are he’ll fail miserably – at least with drawing the line between Islam and terrorism. In Nairobi, Kenya last weekend, Islamist militants took over a high-end shopping mall and began executing non-Muslims. In Pakistan, Islamist suicide bombers detonated at a Christian Church on Sunday.

 

Yet on Monday, September 23, 90 percent of the top ten (via circulation numbers) daily newspapers’ headlines in the United States censored the words “Islam” and Muslim” from Nairobi and Pakistan reports. One – the New York Daily News – didn’t even have a headline for the latest Islamic terrorist attacks. That’s journalism at its finest.
