BuffaloBillsForever Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 (edited) Kudos to you Mike Pettine! Thank you for coming to Buffalo and fixing this defense. You are a brilliant defensive mind. What your scheme has done to improve our pressure and most suprisingly our secondary is mind blowing to what was occuring the last 3 years with pretty much the same personnel. There is no doubt you won't be here long. You will be the "hottest" cooridnator in football after the 2013 season for head coaching positions. Edited September 15, 2013 by BuffaloBillsForever
Fixxxer Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Is nice to have a smart defense. Still would like to see us being better against TEs but when they're good they are a big mismatch for any defense.
Malazan Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 It's a nice change from the last season on defense.
BuffaloBill Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Amen brilliant game.... The D really won this one for us.
Malazan Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 The other thing about having a D that can cover up mistakes is it allows a rookie QB to grow into the game. EJ fudged up and he will fudge up again like any rookie. Having a D that can bail you out and then give you a chance to win is awesome.
Captain Hindsight Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 I think Mario just got another sack
billsfan89 Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 (edited) Back to back weeks the defense looked like a legit NFL defense. Some issues against the run here and there but overall the defense has looked good not great but good. But the coaching has made this defense aggressive, smart, and better in coverage. Also Cudos to Mario for leading the way on the pass rush, last week he didn't do too bad but this week he showed how good he can be. Kyle Williams put in another good effort, I will have to watch again to see how good Dareus did. Edited September 15, 2013 by billsfan89
rochester rob Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Think of what he could accomplish with his two best defensive backs on the field
Wing Man Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 No 100 yard rusher against Buffalo today. Last occurred in 1960.
ProbablyWrong Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Gilmore+Byrd. Can't even imagine the improvement after that.
K D Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Enjoy it while you can. Teams are going to be standing in line to try and get Pettine as their head coach. If it comes down to it, I'd rather Pettine be the HC and get rid of Marrone rather than have Pettine leave
Wing Man Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 I think Mario just got another sack +11 :worthy:
Jerry Jone's Toupee Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Gilmore+Byrd. Can't even imagine the improvement after that. don't hold your breath regarding Byrd

The D played well most of the game but let's not forget that the O bailed out the D at the end of the game. That's the way it should be. Each side picks the other up when they falter. Nice to see for a change.
Dorkington Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 I like everything about our defense, up until the last 2-4 minutes of each half. For whatever reason, everything falls apart there. But outside of those handful of minutes, we've been killing it.
zevo Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Yeah...pettine is as good as gone next year....hopefully there is the next of kin waiting and learning on the staff

buffalover4life Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 I really hope he is teaching someone else how to run this defense. I do not want to lose this guy.
