Adams (5-11, 175) was a three-time All-Big Ten selection (2010 - coaches second team; 2011 - coaches first team and media second team; 2012 - coaches first team and media second team). Adams had 11 interceptions (230 return yards) in his career, including two returned for touchdowns.

"I like him on tape," NFL draft analyst Mike Mayock said. "I think he's pretty feisty."

As a senior in 2012 he had 23 solo tackles, 3 tackles for loss and a sack. He had 157 tackles in his career, 11 tackles for loss a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. An injury kept Adams from playing in the senior bowl, which as we've seen in this year's draft, had a huge affect on draft stock.

Carpenter could get released if Hopkins is healthy. (or maybe Hopkins could get the boot if Carpenter has impressed in practices).

Good point, I'm hoping it's the former as Carpenter is deficient on kickoffs.

Jabari Greer

Bottom Line

This wiry All-Big Ten zone corner owns the athleticism to stick with pro receivers and can make quarterbacks pay for poor throws (intercepted three passes in both the 2010 and 2011 seasons). Adams even saw some time at receiver in the team’s 2012 spring game, snagging a 45-yard reception. However, Adams’ average size/strength combination and 2009 shoulder injury might prevent scouts from seeing him as an elite prospect, and he will likely be selected on the third day of the draft. His lack of size and recovery speed will probably prevent him from playing outside, but his willingness to play the run and be an aggressive tackler will likely allow him to carve out a role as a special teamer and nickelback.

STRENGTHS: Smooth coordination and closes quickly. Loves to press and get physical at the point, often lining up nose-to-nose with receivers. Good timing in coverage to break up passes, using his eyes well to be an aggressive ballhawk. Confident and not afraid to jump routes or come off his man to make a play on the ball.

Very good open-field tackler and takes accurate angles. Physical blitzer and works hard to get off blocks. Short memory and doesn't let mistakes phase him. Battle tested with three years as the starting boundary corner for the Spartans.

WEAKNESSES: Leaner than ideal frame and lacks elite strength, needing help at times to finish. Only average speed for the position and struggles if he doesn't win off the snap. Needs to show better field awareness and use the sideline to his advantage. Struggles to locate and get his head turned around downfield, much more effective when facing the action.

Infectious intensity but needs to keep it in check after the whistle blows. Let's his emotions get the best of him on the field and needs to play controlled. Will attract pass interference penalties with his feisty and grabbing style. Getting blocked on the perimeter and can be driven out of the play. Too many mental errors, even lining up offsides in 2012, an inexcusable mistake by a senior.
