Lot o folks r gonna look dumb when the bills start winning, SJ being part of that.

Yes his drop killed the game, 15 more left fellas.

Leaving SJ off the field in playoff game or tight situation makes zero sense IMO.

He did score a Td with double coverage, FTR.

They gonna double tj graham to free up others when that tactic is employed ?

I'm saying a three and out after another first down. So upwards of 4-8 additional plays under 8 minutes.

Meh the entire game changes if they get a first down. Hypotheticals are too difficult to deal in as it would have changed literally everything. That said I still love Stevie and you well don't... :nana::beer:

This whole argument is silly. The facts are these:

1. No one knows if the outcome of the game changes if Stevie make the catch although it would have been a good time to sustain a drive.

2. Stevie has been the Bills most productive WR for 3 years running and it's not been close competition.

3. Stevie has demonstrated even against the top rated DBs he can get open consistently

4. He has on at least 3 occasions dropped passes that were considered pivotal in the game ... ( vs cinci, steelers, pats)

5. Stevie has been known to be capture media attention with Tweets, celebrations, and interview quotes.

6. Personalities like his tend to have a polarizing effect (you love him or you hate him)

7. The pass in question was not precisely on target and the attempt to catch appeared as an awkward stretching reaching catch attempt, for whatever reason (throw, route, etc)

8. He has made some exceptionally difficult catches

9. He's dropped passed people felt he should have caught.

At the end of it all he is doing what he thinks a leader should do, the coaches appear pleased with him and his work ethic and professionalism.

I've yet to hear a teammate suggest his antics cause any locker room strife.

Maybe the simple statement is he is a very good WR who the Bills should avoid throwing to when the game is on the line in clutch time.

Isn't that Ronnie Harmon's legacy. Great reviving back, just not in crunch time?

Forgot the Jets game where he dropped it in the end zone.. would have won it as well..

It's not that he fails to catch a lot of passes - it's that he fails in the most clutch situations that directly impact whether or not the team wins or loses.

This year when he was coming back from his ANNUAL hamstring injury in training camp that he needed to get his "herky jerk" back.

Some comments on this thread touched on his apparent miscommunications with fitz in the past.

Maybe his improvisation with his herky jerky basketball moves account for some of this.

He should just run the stinking routes until Manuel gets used to our own "herky jerk".

Steve Johnson may be the most unorthodox route runner in the NFL, but this is what makes him good. Having said that, EJ and Stevie should be trying to develop the Welker/Amendola bond that Brady almost effortlessly seems to have. EJ & Stevie need to keep on developing the "trust" that was repeated throughout the New England game when talking about Brady & his new receivers.

What about chandler's drop, or Spiller's fumble. How about EJ overthrowing targets.

I'm so tired of this crap. The team needs to tighten up, but lets try not to rail road a talented player because he is a media focal point.

It's hard to catch game winning tds in the NFL. He proves it constantly

no just once..... And some will never forget it. So much so that we want to lump a whole game of offenseive ineptitude, onto one drop, with 8 minutes on the clock, that would have been a first down...... Not a game winning TD. Edited by JaxBills

Maybe there is a reason some players are labelled CLUTCH. Jerry Rice, Andre, Lofton come to mind to name but a few.

No one ever has called SJ13 clutch. Good receiver, but not the guy (yet) that a coach will have confidence in throwing to him with a game on the line.

Based on his current habit of drops at the worst possible time. Also, his excuses are pretty lame at times. He seems to defer blame, whatever. The talking heads on ESPN like them or hate them after the game said it was a pass that should have been caught. Amendola pulled in tougher catches in the same game.

Yeah let's bash Stevie alone on this one, it's ALL on him. We've had 1 semi consistent player over the last couple of years, who by the way seems to actually enjoy playing in Buffalo, and there is a select few who can't wait to run him out of town because they don't agree with him having fun. What about the really nice TD grab he had? Lets forget about that.

Yes, he is partially to blame for the loss. But what about Spiller who was garbage today or Chandler who couldn't stop causing penalties early on? Do they get a pass because they act how you deem to be appropriate?

Stupid and ridiculous.

Stevie is a nice young guy who is very confident in his abilities. He does not realize that his unconventional behavior (no off season training) and pronouncements (Pats can't stop me) annoy people. He has talent and should let his achievements speak for himself. I his defense the trend in the past 20 years in the NFL is that WRs are the ultimate divas. I rather him be a quiet success than a flashy failure.

this is on you buddy- let's hear from all your supporters- you had a first down with room to run to fg position- umm that's why we are so serious. Let's hear from all your lovers.

It wasn't an easy catch, fact is Brady would of scored a TD if we would of made a FG...

Stevie is like a lot of players on this team. Just good enough to lose with. He shows flashes of being a great player but how many games has he won versus we can point out a drop that cost us a game? Like a lot of Bills he needs to prove he can do it in the 4th quarter in a tight game. Actually, was a perfect reciever for Fitzpatrick in that regard. If he makes that catch we still might have lost but our chances of winning would have been greatly improved. We need some clutch players to show up for this team. Hopefully EJ turns out to be one.
