johnwalter Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Because of how the draft went down, EJ Manuel vs. Geno Smith could become serious rivalry games. Our first game against the Jets is only 2 weeks away.
Bangarang Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Geno can't hold EJs jock. I wanted us to take Geno but so far it appears as though we got the guy that has the it factor it takes to succeed.
BillsPride12 Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Yeah I dont see this becoming a legitimate rivalry because I dont see Geno making it in this league
DanInUticaTampa Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Find it hard to see that. Maybe EJ and tannahill. But that seems like a stretch. Gotta see EJ and geno play for a season before calling it a rivalery
K D Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Geno wont be their qb by week three +1, Jets will be 0-2 and Sanchez will probably get the start vs us
Billshank Redemption Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 no way in hell geno will be their long term guy. My good friend is a die hard jets fan and even he says theres no way.
Jared Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 This discussion is meaningless until Brady retires.
Dragonborn10 Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Somehow I think if EJ had been drafted by the Jets and Geno by the Bills this thread would basically be reversed. Neither QB has played even a full game. Neither has looked good against another team's starters. EJ has had one good drive against second stringers, and one decent half against guys who aren't in the league right now. I too hope against all odds EJ is the one...

uncle flap Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Neither has looked good against another team's starters. Geno hasn't looked good period. He's been terrible across the board. Maybe EJ didn't do anything spectacular vs the ones, but he certainly didn't look bad at any point.

Lets see what happens when live bullets are fired!
Clutchwarfare Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Nothing would make me happier than watching EJ show up Geno twice a year and Buffalo dominating New Jersey for the next decade. But like the rest on this thread, I dont think Geno will last long in this league. He is more Vince Young and I think EJ will be more Warren Moon (Kool Aid alert but whatever, as fans we are supposed to dream big).

Captain Hindsight Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 It wont be a rivalry because we are going to dominate them for the next 50 years

Actually you would be calling me a troll b.c I would be yelling you we are screwed. You would call me a jets/pats/fin fan b.c I would be complaining about the pick. BuffaloFan68 Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 I originally wanted the Bills to draft Geno but from what I've seen so far - I'm glad we now have EJ instead. our fist, first draft pick on a QB. While I would love to see EJ throw 8 TDs today - it won't happen since we would put Tuel in for mop-up.

If you don't see a difference between EJ and Geno beyond hope than there's nothing to say. Don't be afraid to start admitting EJ has something different about him. It remains to be seen if he'll be good or great, but he's not going to be a dud, and he's damn sure not Geno Smith. Edited September 8, 2013 by Triple Threat
