He must have been absolutely horrible for the RAIDERS of all people to think there was no way to groom him. With that being said don't bring him to Buffalo.
Captain Hindsight Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Very rare for a 4th rounder to get released in TC. Even more for a QB
BobChalmers Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 http://sports.yahoo....31227--nfl.html Wow. He must have been absolutely horrible for the RAIDERS of all people to think there was no way to groom him. With that being said don't bring him to Buffalo. Hehe - seriously - remember when he was at the top of many's lists here? Can there be any doubt at this point the Bills drafted the right QB? It may be that none of them were truly worthy of a 1st round pick, but there isn't a rookie out there who has remotely shown as much as Manuel has this preseason. Well, Geno Smith has shown a lot - it's just been almost all really bad.
Kemp2Warlick Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I confess...I liked Tyler Wilson a lot.
Solomon Grundy Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Many draft "experts" had projected Wilson as the Bills next franchise QB.
DanInUticaTampa Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I confess...I liked Tyler Wilson a lot. Me as well. For the mid-late round qbs, Wilson was my favorite.
jumbalaya Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Many draft "experts" had projected Wilson as the Bills next franchise QB. That option is still open.
BillsWatch Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 That option is still open. Fortunately you are not in Bills front office.
sodbuster Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Many draft "experts" had projected Wilson as the Bills next franchise QB. yeah, now i see why.
Not at the table Karlos Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I would pick him up. It's too early to give up on him
NickelCity Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 http://sports.yahoo....31227--nfl.html Wow. He must have been absolutely horrible for the RAIDERS of all people to think there was no way to groom him. With that being said don't bring him to Buffalo. 'Wow' is right.
RuntheDamnBall Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 It doesn't bode well for him, but I'd certainly bring him to town and work him out. The Bills are not really in the business of being choosy when it comes to QBs right now.
Billshank Redemption Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 He always reminded me of Jim Kelly for his ability to hang tough in the pocket. Let him develop as the 3rd stringer. He could be a great LT backup, he certainly has the talent.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 http://sports.yahoo....31227--nfl.html Wow. He must have been absolutely horrible for the RAIDERS of all people to think there was no way to groom him. With that being said don't bring him to Buffalo. Wow that is bad but I'd still put him on the PS just to see. Wonder if Tyler Bray is available, that kid has crazy talent
Mark Vader Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I confess...I liked Tyler Wilson a lot. So do I, and I find it difficult to believe that this kid is finished. I think he could become a good QB in this league, just not right away. It looks to me that the Raiders were looking for an instant starter in Wilson, and that's not what they go. Someone should pick him up and give him a chance to learn.
RuntheDamnBall Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 You can look at it a few ways. Mark V's suggestion that he couldn't take the reins instantly might be part of it. Also, yes, there's the whole "he couldn't even make the Raiders" argument, but then, the Raiders aren't exactly a model organization and I wouldn't take their opinion on talent evaluation as the last word. It's certain that if Wilson didn't get picked by them in R4, he would have been drafted by somebody. I'm sure that there is a team out there who will give him a shot.
Iraq Vet Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 why not sign him to our PS. Take a 3 week look at him........
run dat back Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Absolutely crazy if the Raiders cut him JUST because he can't start this year. They can't afford to be in the business of trying to win now when they are in such a mess. I'm sure there has to be more to it than that to explain cutting a 4th rounder so soon.
JTO Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Bucky brooks liked him so much that he even wrote an article on him.
Max997 Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/oakland-raiders-cut-qb-tyler-wilson-fourth-round-184531227--nfl.html Wow. Actually he was outplayed by a rookie free agent whose name escapes me right now
