26CornerBlitz Posted September 1, 2013 Author Posted September 1, 2013 I don't remember this much outrage when we picked up Milloy 5 days before playing the Pats in 2003. Chris White is familiar with the Bills' Defensive and ST philosophies. It's a smart pickup by the Patriots going into the opener.
maddenboy Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 I don't remember this much outrage when we picked up Milloy 5 days before playing the Pats in 2003. Again, as has been posted, we got Milloy TO PLAY. Not to pick his brain and discard him. and play he did. Well. With a bit of a chip on his shoulder.
B-Man Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Again, as has been posted, we got Milloy TO PLAY. Not to pick his brain and discard him. and play he did. Well. With a bit of a chip on his shoulder. Absolutely correct. .
Buffaloed in Pa Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 We all knew that he was going to claim the linebacker Detroit cut after us trading him a week ago? And the nfl should look into that? Could it simply be that he's studied film of the bills and maybe even liked white out of college and wanted to look at linebacker depth? Or is our roster so TERRIBLE that the only reason the pats would ever want our guy is to learn our "secrets" of what Chris white was being taught in preseason games and at open practices. What???It could have been any player we cut. Get the sideblinders off.He will do anything to gain and edge.
GA BILLS FAN Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Lions waived White, bills could have picked him up before NE but did not. Correct. In addition, if White plays week 1 his contract is guaranteed for full year, so, good move for him. Pats obviously want some insight on Bills D, but let's face it, the crappy corners we have on our 53-man are not putting much fear into them at this point.
BillsWatch Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 http://espn.go.com/blog/new-england-patriots/post/_/id/4747812/source-patriots-claim-lb-white White recently was traded from the Buffalo Bills to the Detroit Lions, who subsequently waived him as part of the team's final cut down. White has played in 22 career games in two NFL seasons, totaling 19 tackles. The addition of White gives the Patriots seven linebackers on their roster. No where does it state he will not be active and my assumption is we will be facing him in opener. He will provide what inside information he can to new team and Bills will attempt to exploit any weaknesses he has when he is on field.
Just Jack Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Not to pick his brain and discard him. So Belichick has already said he's going to cut him after the first week? That seems to be what you're trying to say.
BillsWatch Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 So Belichick has already said he's going to cut him after the first week? That seems to be what you're trying to say. Probably because he does same thing when he plays Madden football.
Doc Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Correct. In addition, if White plays week 1 his contract is guaranteed for full year, so, good move for him. Pats obviously want some insight on Bills D, but let's face it, the crappy corners we have on our 53-man are not putting much fear into them at this point. Actually since White isn't a vested veteran (fewer than 4 accrued seasons in the NFL), his salary for the year isn't guaranteed.
BRAWNDO Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Is anyone else surprised that the Pats had four waiver wire claims to the Bills one?
Saint Doug Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 This sucks. I bet this helps the Pats* figure out a way to beat us since they've had so much trouble over the years. In honesty, the Bills usually give the Pats a challenge in their initial games (at least during the first 2 quarters). It's all downhill from there. This is a pure cheat move. Nothing surprising though.
bills44 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 So Belichick has already said he's going to cut him after the first week? That seems to be what you're trying to say. How long do you think White will stick on the Pats* roster?
maddenboy Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 So Belichick has already said he's going to cut him after the first week? That seems to be what you're trying to say. "Not to pick his brain and discard him" is the line of mine you are responding to. I'm trying to say he will pick his brain and discard him BEFORE the first game. Dont want him actually on the opening day roster, and dont want to burn a PS spot for him. But you probably knew that already.
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Luckily they probably had not started installing pats game plan when he was sent packing...
Buffalo Barbarian Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 @shalisemyoung #patriots claimed 4 players off waivers: LB Chris White (MissSt), OL Braxston Cave (ND), DT AJ Francis (Maryland), OL Chris Barker (Nev) @PatrickMoranBSD Patriots have claimed former #Bills LB Chris White off waivers. Wonder if them playing Bills this week had anything to do with that. and because he's solid backup and can play special teams, another gaffe by the FO
PromoTheRobot Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 and because he's solid backup and can play special teams, another gaffe by the FO Really? Now he's solid? Is anyone else surprised that the Pats had four waiver wire claims to the Bills one? Dumpster diving by the genius?
vincec Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 What could Chris White tell them that they can't learn from watching the films of the Bills four preseason games? That's all White knows anyway. He doesn't know the game plan for this week.
maddenboy Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 (edited) What could Chris White tell them that they can't learn from watching the films of the Bills four preseason games? That's all White knows anyway. He doesn't know the game plan for this week. Please try to read all the posts in a thread before responding. This has been covered on pages 1 and 2. (psst: here's a hint: White knows special teams too, and it costs Belicheat nothing to try). Also, all the good teams do this. This is from PFT just a while ago. Packers play SF in week 1. Packers claim SF backup quarterback today to "run the scout team offense." http://profootballta...ime-for-week-1/ Again, as i stated above, Belicheat is trying to WIN THE SUPERBOWL THIS YEAR. Starting with game 1. And now, evidence that the Packers are trying to WIN THE SUPERBOWL THIS YEAR. Are we? Edited September 2, 2013 by maddenboy
