BuffaloBaumer Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 If the Bills really are going to have to play Tuel in the opener, wouldn't you want to have him get as much play time as he can tomorrow. Yes, I know the starters will be out after one or two series but come on, Jeff Tuel is not beating the Patriots. Why not see what he can do in a half and maybe give him some confidence. Anything less than Manuel in the opener and it's all a moot point to me anyway.
PromoTheRobot Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 1) Manuel is starting vs the Pats 2) If Tuel has to start, why risk injury playing him in a meaningless game?
BillnutinHouston Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 I said this in another thread but it seems relevant here too: QB playing time vs. the Lions could be something to watch as a true indicator of EJ's chances of playing in the opener. My read would be, if EJ truly projects to be unavailable for week 1, Tuel plays LESS vs. the Lions because he's the closest thing they have to a game-ready QB and they don't want him hurt for the Pats* game. Curious to hear others' opinions on this.
