bills44 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 OSU showing lots of class going for two twice. Well they gotta flex for everyone. No offense, but this is a glorified scrimmage for OSU. They're experimenting and giving future opponents some different looks.
JM57 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 OSU showing lots of class going for two twice. Well they gotta flex for everyone. When you're playing in a glorified scrimmage game, you make sure you practice everything you want to practice before you take the 1's out. Which in this game should be about another 25-30 minutes (of real time not game time.)
Dean Cain Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 The Bulls are getting killed in their secondary. Sounds familiar.
bills44 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Haha, 3 people in a row have use the exact phrase " glorified scrimmage " in referring to this game
ubkev Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 This is going to be a blood bath. UB may not score until garbage time.
Captain Hindsight Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 UB actually has some talent but they arent ready for this level
Dean Cain Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 The biggest public university in Ohio is killing the largest public university from New York. UB's coach is 9-27 in his first 3 seasons. What a stark difference from Gil Turner.

ubkev Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 UB actually has some talent but they arent ready for this level UB will never be ready for this level. They've been D1 fore more than a dozen years and they've had one winning season. The best shot they will have at that is this year with 17 starters returning. Let's hope for a .com bowl played at 3am in Idaho.
Dean Cain Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Turner Gill? Guy was lucky to catch lightning in a bottle for 1 season. I doubt that Kansas fans think highly of him. Is he still at Jerry Falwell U? Serious bro? A guy who did a near Marrone at UB. You must not be too keen on our new coach.

bills44 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Serious bro? A guy who did a near Marrone at UB. You must not be too keen on our new coach. Marrone took SU to 2 bowl games, in a BCS conference. Gill had 1 winning season, and flamed out (predictably) when he took the HC gig at a BCS program. The two are not at all comparable, IMO.
/dev/null Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 There ya go promo they kicked an extra this time, hehe. Needed to get him some practice on something other than kickoffs
YellowLinesandArmadillos Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 D line looks okay on pass rush, can't match up on skill positions... Not too bad though. Geez they can't cover anyone...

Marrone went: 4-8 8-5 5-7 8-5 Turner: 2-10 5-7 8-6 5-7 Both took over some terrible programs and started in pretty tough spots. If Marrone fizzles out in Buffalo does that make him earn him the label as a coach who had "2 good seasons"?
bills44 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Maybe. Do you think that Gill will be considered for an NFL job - even as a position coach - anytime soon? Marrone's resume puts Gill's to shame.
YellowLinesandArmadillos Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Apples and Oranges in comparison. SU has history as a good team, Buffalo is relatively unknown. Not saying comparing the two as coach is not valid, just not each records.
