NoSaint Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 My guess is Tuel keeps starting as long at the Bills are winning. Go with the hot hand, etc. Unless he plays like Aaron Rodgers, absolutely not.
thebandit27 Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Let's all take a deep breath. Right now, the team has to prepare Tuel to start if they don't know that EJ will be back in time. Things will be clearer in a week or so...worst case is that Tuel has to play and gets beat up...it's only one game.
BuffBill Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Go get em', Tuel! I'm sure its happened before, anyone know the last time a UDFA rookie QB started Week One? I think the last and maybe only other time a undrafted rookie started at QB in week one was 1976 with Jim Zorn of the Seattle Seahawks.
n3wyork13 Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Man what a few days can do to the outlook of our beloved bills.
The Big Cat Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 How is this a surprise? So long as Manuel is "out" they're game planning and preparing with the guy(s) they have available to practice.
PromoTheRobot Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Unless he plays like Aaron Rodgers, absolutely not. Not saying Tuel will...BUT if Tuel were playing well and the Bills were winning games, you'd still bench him for EJ? PTR
reddogblitz Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 After Thursday night it will be obvious that my main man, Big Bad Thad, will be the starter vs Patsies. If Tuel Time starts, we'll get beat like a drum, 69-3 type score.
K D Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 "Through three preseason games, Tuel has completed 31-of-43 passes for 299 yards with two touchdowns, no interceptions and a 106.6 quarterback rating." Super Bowl?
Wayne Cubed Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 It's pretty simple. You prepare for a game with the guys you have available, not the guys you THINK will be available.
Rico Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Bills were getting 10 points week 1 against the Pats... I just can't bet against them since that would be blood money, but damn that is tempting now.
quinnearlysghost88 Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 I cannot believe that it is august 26th and i'm having to root on Jeff Tuel for week 1 vs the new england patriots. i just spent 3 months enjoying the fact that the patriots were going to be depleted and beatable, now i'm hoping our undrafted QB can make clean hand-offs. what the hell just happened?
JuanGuzman Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 The best time to be a Bills fan is from the end of the season to the start. We are getting pretty close to the start. too true. I was on top of the world after the Vikings preseason game, should of reminded myself of this
Beerball Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Marrone says Bills are planning for Tuel to start. That doesn't mean that he will start, never mind the fact that Marrone is all about misinformation on this topic.
NoSaint Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Not saying Tuel will...BUT if Tuel were playing well and the Bills were winning games, you'd still bench him for EJ? PTR If healthy, ej is my starter until he loses the job and that won't be by minor injury.
26CornerBlitz Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Marrone says Bills are planning for Tuel to start. That doesn't mean that he will start, never mind the fact that Marrone is all about misinformation here. Hello!!
Fan in Chicago Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 My guess is Tuel keeps starting as long at the Bills are winning. Go with the hot hand, etc. I have to agree but it may not be bad to be in that position. In that axenario, a week 1 win against the Pats* will be fun on so many levels. Anyway, I am getting too far ahead of ourselves. This game against the Skins was quite costly for the Bills with the Kolb and Gilmore injuries.

That doesn't mean that he will start, never mind the fact that Marrone is all about misinformation on this topic. You know, I'm 100% sure that Marrone is shooting straight on this, and that the team is getting Tuel prepared to start in week 1, while hoping for EJ to be back in time. That said, what a coup that would be if it were all a ruse and the team knew that EJ was going to play.

Braedenstearns Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 (edited) You better hope like hell this doesn't happen. First Belichick and then Ryan will eat Jeff Tuel for Breakfast!! Well then... We can wait and find out. He is the best option we have until Manuel comes back,Correct me if im wrong. Someone give me the name of the QB we can play week 1 besides Tuel ( If Manuel is not back by week 1) In the game with the colts, he looked really good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RGkdqwbebY Edited August 26, 2013 by Braedenstearns

He answered the question perfectly.
