major Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Were you more concerned with his health as a human being or more concerned that you as a fan were going to have a losing season? It scares me that most of us view these guys as video game players/fantasy players and not real human beings.
2020 Our Year For Sure Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Gotta admit my first thought is almost always about the effect on the Bills, and empathy comes afterward. Good post, good thing to keep in mind.
Max997 Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 I was worried I wouldn't be able to draft him in my fantasy league tomorrow night
major Posted August 25, 2013 Author Posted August 25, 2013 The first thing I said out loud was "there goes the season". Later I started thinking about how warped that was
FluffHead Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 When you heard about Spiller's family situation today, did you first think of how this could effect Spiller's play, or did you think about the victims and the families? That one could potentially make you feel like a real douche

It scares me that most of us view these guys as video game players/fantasy players and not real human beings. At the end of the day, it's a dude writhing around with a hurt knee. I was thinking about the bills season. If it were a Kevin Everett situation with a life threatening injury, I'd be more concerned about the man than the colors he was wearing. With that said, I'm still taking spiller first in my draft
MattM Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Speaking of which--any more news on his step grandfather? Sounds horrible. On a human level, I feel very sorry for CJ and his family about that. On a football level, that may turn out to have a much larger impact on CJ and his performance this year than an injury (see Dareus, Marcel).....
