Yea, that was actually kind of my first sad moment with him. I was like "he needs XXX points... nevermind."

 

For the record, Lindell only needed 32 points to pass Steve Christie and become the team's all-time leading scorer. That's the equivalent of, say, eight field goals and eight extra points.

Christie is definitely my favorite kicker, so I'm glad that his record wasn't broken by a good (but not great) player. I liked Lindell (after he got his accuracy back after recovering from the shoulder (IIRC) injury that messed up his mechanics early on) but he wasn't one of the greats. Due to rarely ever trying long ones, Lindell's accuracy was inflated a bit. Christie could boom 'em and was accurate too.

 

It'll be broken eventually; I'm hoping that it's a great player that does it.
