SBUffalo Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I don't think it works that way for franchise Yes, you can actually work out an agreement to avoid the tag being thrown on you again in a year.
Chandler#81 Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 BTW, those who started other threads, they were all small enough that I just deleted them, rather than merge 20 posts asking if there was a link. No offense intended.
FluffHead Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 There is now a Byrd exhibit in the Pettine Zoo
GG Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 BTW, those who started other threads, they were all small enough that I just deleted them, rather than merge 20 posts asking if there was a link. No offense intended. FWIW, brawndo had the quickest post
RuntheDamnBall Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I guess "POS agent" Eugene Parker doesn't know when week 10 is and doesn't want Byrd to play for the Bills.

Chandler#81 Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 FWIW, brawndo had the quickest post Thanks. I look closer next time. This one (yours) had the most hits and responses in the first few minutes..
Kelly the Dog Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I would be more surprised I guess to learn that he didn't get the guarantee from the Bills to not franchise him next year than I would to learn he came in on his own with two weeks to go. That really doesn't amount to much of a threat. I think he would sign right before the season started, seeing if the Bills would cave in the last week. It's possible that Byrd just told Parker I want to play when he saw how much fun the Bills defense was having, and decided he didn't care about the franchise tag next year any more, he thought he would play better if given the two weeks.
NoSaint Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I love this!! We have become so cynical. 350 people post it yet someone won't believe it until they read it for themselves. Glad to have J Byrd back and think that this D is well on its way. It's nice to see a source... As junk news has broken more than once
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Finally! Hopefully this is enough to get him back up and ready for Week One!!!
BRAWNDO Posted August 21, 2013 Author Posted August 21, 2013 FWIW, brawndo had the quickest post Thanks GG, but I yield to your superior number of posts

nucci Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Finally! Hopefully this is enough to get him back up and ready for Week One!!! I think so. He'll be starting next to A.Williams.

boyst Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 So......if i remember correctly... ...franchise players cannot negotiate long term deals after July XX... ...it is past July XX ... ...he signed awful early... Could that mean we could see a long term deal coming? Maybe the numbers were close...maybe I am dreaming...
San Jose Bills Fan Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 As many of us said numerous times, there was no way in hell he was gonna miss any games. Not at $432,000 per game.
