gantrules Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Raul Mondesi!!! Watch out now! It's a mix of Gary Sheffield when he came to Atlanta (attitude problems) and JD Drew (injury problems). JS loves those tough guys to understand, I guess. Also, there has been a lot of trade rumors between Texas and Atlanta. Possibly Teixeira for Furcal/Thomson. Lineup could end up being Giles Estrada Chipper Teixeira A. Jones Mondesi LaRoche Betemit http://atlanta.braves.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/a...s_atl&fext=.jsp

If any team can turn around Mondesi's fortunes...its the Braves.

I still have trouble forgiving the Blue Jays for trading Shawn Green for him, THEN paying the Yankees to take on half his salary. That guy is the underachiever of the decade.
Frez Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 The Mets are not done yet. Look for them to make a huge splash again in the next few days or maybe hours! GO METS!

We are probably going to end up losing Furcal after this season anyways considering he's looking for around 8-10 mill per year. If Texas moves Soriano in a trade, moves Young back to second and Furcal to SS they'll have one hell of a middle IF too. Look at these numbers, and he's due to make 3 mill in 2005. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=6788

millbank Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Carlos Delgado is going to meet with Florida's owners tomorrow and Mets next week. Its said the newly signed Carlos Beltran has been speaking with Carlos about playing for Mets. In the Post today they said issue about Carlos Delgado not standing for " God Bless America " was a non issue because Delgado has said he will do whatever team policy is for this , if team is to be at top of dugout , he will stand at top of dugout, apparently in Toronto the team had no rule as to what the players did so he chose not to. Hopefully that ends the fuss about this issue. Delgado would help make the Mets contenders, just a matter of getting relief sorted out and they can be very good.
