26CornerBlitz Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Even the best Front Offices in the NFL whiff on picks, 49ers deal WR A.J. Jenkins to Chiefs for WR Jon Baldwin: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000231647/article/49ers-trade-aj-jenkins-to-chiefs-for-jonathan-baldwin
ColdBlueNorth Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 B-U-S-T Nice to see that even the vaunted 49ers FO draft a 1st round dud now and then.

KD in CA Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Everyone misses on draft picks. What makes them a good FO is the ability to own up to the mistake and move on as quickly as possible.
The Big Cat Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Sounds like a Sheppard-for-Hughes level swap. But just a touch more curious...
Fan in Chicago Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 But just a touch more curious... Maybe more as a 'whats the worst that can happen' situation
The Big Cat Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Maybe more as a 'whats the worst that can happen' situation Two teams trying to make use of each other's dead weight... I guess, the more I think about it, it's a good trade for the Chiefs. He was taken in the first round, presumably for a reason.
mannc Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Everyone misses on draft picks. What makes them a good FO is the ability to own up to the mistake and move on as quickly as possible. Well, that and having a lot more first round hits than misses. It also helps to be able to pick up a franchise QB in round 2.

ddaryl Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 and in Buffalo's case some players were slow to develop because of bad coaching and piss poor scheme. I expect to see a few players many here wrote off come alive under Marrone Hackett and Pettine
....lybob Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 I think the 49ers made out like bandits on this deal - Jon Baldwin has had poor QBs in KC but he has similar qualities as Vincent Jackson
Prickly Pete Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 The 49ers sucked for a long time (when they didn't have a QB of course).
26CornerBlitz Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 W/O the trade this guy was going to get a Turk visit: @PFF A.J. Jenkins got on the field for 47 snaps as a 49er (regular & postseason games). Ran 22 routes, targeted once, dropped it

Maury Ballstein Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Jon Baldwin. Wonder what the story is there, he seems like he has some upside
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Bizarre trade. Baldwin has a ton of potential. For fantasy, I would take a late round flyer on Baldwin now.
ColdBlueNorth Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Eric Moulds? Took him his 3rd Season until he did anything Not so much... Marv would not play him as he preferred his old vets being on the field and was very slow to work Moulds into the lineup. Different game now with free agency where wet behind the ears kids fresh out of college are day 1 starters more often than not.
Trader Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Sounds like a Sheppard-for-Hughes level swap. I think these trades can work for both teams. I want to see more!!
