I was wondering if teams report phony injuries in order to IR guys. Also, does anyone else wonder whether EJ's knee injury is phony so that the Bills' coaches won't have to start him on the first game of the season against the Pats?

If the coaching staff didn't want to play EJ against the Pats, couldn't they just, you know, not play him against the Pats?

To question #1, I think it happens with regularity.

Question #2, HUH?!?

Alright, I get it that it sounds crazy, but why have the Bills' coaches been so secretive about EJ's knee? It's almost like they wanted to find an excuse for Kolb start at the beginning of the season.

It's because the play new England in week 1 and make them have to prep for all QBs.

Because in this era of Facebook where everybody puts all their personal stuff out for everyone to see, it's nice that the coaches aren't saying anything.

Or maybe they have seen enough of EJ this preseason and see no reason for Belichick to see any more than he has to.
