Fitz looked pretty good last night against the Bungles, granted it was against the twos and threes but he hit some nice throws and showed solid decision making throwing the ball away while being dragged down. His biggest problem in Buffalo was he just didn't have the arm strength for the conditions at the Ralph, few do. The conditions there truly separate the men from the boys. If you don't have a legitimate deep ball and coaching staff unwilling to or unable to establish the ground game your chances are greatly diminished. There are many starting Qb's in the league whose numbers would be very different if they played 8 at the Ralph mixed with regular trips to Foxboro and other northeastern stadiums as Bills signal callers face. Look at the game a couple of years back when the "great" Tommy boy didn't even attempt a pass in the two quarters they moved away from the tunnel. In no way do I think Fitz is a great Qb but there were many factors in his demise. Maybin on the other hand is a true poser.

7 at the Ralph, not 8.

Me too. I read that and thought "wow that's some sh*t!" All I can say is he must look damn good in a red shirt or an interview room.

He is wonderful in practice, something I have kept in mind reading all the reports from camp since he was here.

I see your Eddie Robinson and raise you Erik Flowers.

Erik Flowers? Ugh it's a tie for the biggest 1st round bust between him and Maybin in Bills History!

Was Edwards our starter the same year we drafted Maybin??

That's a whole lot of bad football, but if it were to coincide....it's like the perfect storm of incompetence.

Nope, That sad distinction would easily go to Walt Patulski who was the #1 overall pick in 1972.

I've always thought that Trent was not as bad as Jaurons coaching/play-calling made him look.

Yes because running out of bounds late in the game on 4th and 10 instead of throwing a possible interception and ruining your stats is always a better option...

I think I would lose some respect of this coaching regime.

Well, if they turned him into a 5-sack guy and a somewhat normal looking defender, I'd have a ton of respect for this coaching regime.

But I get your drift--and I doubt that the team would even consider the insane idea of bringing Maybin back.

Were any of Maybin's sacks a result of him beating or overpowering a defender?

Tough to tell. He went so far to the outside that he was typically off the TV screen for like 5-10 seconds. In that time, he may have been overpowering some scat back.
