Johnny Hammersticks Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 This team will live and die by Cooney, I'm afraid. Was good to see him hit a couple big ones today...get his adrenaline pumping a little. I am concerned about CJ Fair having to carry too much of the weight on offense.

JM57 Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 I agree completely and would say if they win they would definitely get a 1 seed. I would prefer a 1 seed but as long as they go Buffalo MSG I don't really care what seed they are. I would love to see them win the ACC tournament but that would be a tall order with their short bench. However since they don't play until Friday they will have only played 1 game in 10 days by the time the game rolls around. Hopefully that is enough time for them to get their legs back, Keita's knee to recover more, and Grant to feel better. CBS Sports currently has them projected as the top #2 seed in a region with Villanova at 1, Louisville at 3 and Michigan State at 4. ESPN hasn't updated since 3/6 so I won't bother posting it. still has Kansas as a 1

I would hate to be in the same region as them.

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 And you never count Tom Izzo's teams out in the tourney either. Not favorable, that's for sure. I agree. I put Michigan State in the F4 every year in my brackets.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Last night at the Hardwood Club dinner, Syracuse named the first ever individual award after Baye Keita. Basically an award for being a good person, student, and teammate. Tremendous honor and well deserved. Even more impressive that they named it after a current player.
The Poojer Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 he takes a lot of abuse from fans for having horrible hands, but look at how he has grown as a player over the years, no one works harder out there and he is a beast in the zone. I have heard he is also a good student as well. Congrats to him, he has made himself a big part of SU Basketball lore. Miyagi-Do Karate Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 This Baye award got me choked up a bit. What an awesome thing.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 So who won it? It's my understanding that the award was just introduced. No one actually won it yet. Could be wrong though...
section122 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 11th in both polls.... Laughable to still see Duke up above with 7 losses...
bbb Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 It's my understanding that the award was just introduced. No one actually won it yet. Could be wrong though... Yeah, I was just kidding. I think it would be funny if they gave the first Baye Keita award to somebody else!
Canadian Bills Fan Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Is Ennis declaring for the NBA draft this year?
The Poojer Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 he was going to but the Bills signed him as Guard immediately after Free Agency started....same old Bills, always screwing it up no one seems to know yet... Is Ennis declaring for the NBA draft this year?
Johnny Hammersticks Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Cuse going to play the Miami/NC State winner. Who would you all rather see them play? I'd say Miami. I know they played us tough twice this year, but I'm terrified of TJ Warren. Kid can flat out ball...carry his team.
BuffOrange Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Don't care too much but I'll take NIT St. They don't try as hard to bring the game to a snail's pace, Warren's all they got, they can't shoot 3's, and based on the spread today (and kenpom) Miami is actually a hair better. Plus it'd be pretty sweet to run thru an all Tobacco Road gauntlet to the title on their turf.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Villanova falls to Seton Hall in the BET. Huge upset. Could have major seeding implications.
Maury Ballstein Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 (edited) Plus it'd be pretty sweet to run thru an all Tobacco Road gauntlet to the title on their turf. Dream on. ACC roots are North Carolina and Virginia. You Yankee boys ain't gonna run through anything! Tar----heels Tar-----heeels Edited March 13, 2014 by Ryan L Billz

Tar----heels Tar-----heeels You better hope UNC doesn't't have to play the Cuse if they make it to the finals. Here's how it will go down. Cooney hits three quick three pointers to start the game and BOOM... Some weirdo comes over the loudspeaker and screams, "He's on fire!" and then Cooney bursts into flames and starts hitting half court shots that singe the nets and doing super somersault front flip dunks. Game over Edited March 13, 2014 by KikoSeeBallKikoGetBall
