I've always been under the thinking of tie goes to the rookie. If Kolb doesn't show a blatant better chance to win games, then I think the call needs to be made after this game to get all the snaps going forward to EJ.

I'm not saying that I think EJ was perfect, or even ready for that matter, but we really only have one real preseason game after this and snaps in a new offense matter.

Also, I do believe that Kolb should be able to show more quickly, being a veteran and his 3rd time showing his stuff with a team at training camp. So yeah, missing last week or not, he should be able to show enough to make a decision for us.

And for clarity, I'm not saying win the game, throw for 150 yards in the first quarter. I'm just saying he should show control, clean passes, and a high completion percentage. That's what starters do in preseason games again vanilla defenses

Additionally, if he were to make some nice long throws down field.

However, if EJ were able to do the same thing tonight, then I think this competition is over. I agree with you completely, give the kid is reps next week.

I was initially mad that Kolb will be starting. I figured EJ has earned it, especially with a home field appearance.

However, now thinking about it, seeing Kolb with the 1's might be his death sentence if he doesn't play like an NFL QB.

Hope EJ remains confident

More importantly,

Go Bills.
