shoretalk
He had one decent year with the Jets playing under Pettine. http://www.nfl.com/player/jamaalwesterman/2507638/profile

3rdand12
Still.. its interesting to me the positions they are bringing in . Doesn't mean too much but does suggest they think there's room to improve. Love this competition attitude. no big whoop i know but still i take note . who does this affect directly. Dowtin ? Mark Vader
A player that Pettine has worked with before. Sounds fine to me. Let's see what he can do.
White Linen
I am surprised Bart Scott has not been brought in. He'd be a nice run stopping LB to add to our team.
Rocky Landing
This seemed like a curious acquisition of a fairly unremarkable player (on paper, at least). But, Pettine obviously knows this guy well, so I will trust his judgement. I am surprised Bart Scott has not been brought in. He'd be a nice run stopping LB to add to our team. I'd be surprised if we haven't been talking to him.

I think its worth throwing them to the fire. These two are ready.
K D
Pettine liked Maybin. I think he's available. Sign him up!
hondo in seattle
Not to be cynical, but maybe Pettine brought him in to help instill his scheme & philosophy with the other LBs, knowing Westerman has the knowledge - but not the skills - to play this defense. In the end, Westerman gets cut.

San Jose Bills Fan
Paul Westerberg signed with the Bills? I'm surprised Wawrow didn't break this story.
