Nanker
Battle for roles at DT getting tight, per Chris Brown at BuffaloBills.com Team will likely carry only 4. Kyle and Marcell are 50% of that. Here's who's fighting for the remaining 2 spots according to the article: Double-teamers Torell Troup Alan Branch Penetrators Jay Ross Jarron Gilbert Corbin Bryant We keep one from each group? What say ye? What makes this a bit puzzling is the official BB depth chart. There they've got Branch and Bryant backing up Kyle and Ross, Troup and Tipoti backing up Marcell. Joe Miner
I have heard next to nothing about Branch this off-season.
Malazan
I don't think Branch sticks. Heard some good things about Ross. He could be a dark horse.
Matt in KC
I would have said we kept Dareus, Williams, Troup and Branch. Reading that, I now think we might keep Dareus, Williams, and Troup OR Branch. I've seen and read very little, but my take is Troup is performing better and is less expensive. KD in CA
I wish we could sign Louis Nix. I have a lot of concern about this group given what the starters showed last year.
2020 Our Year For Sure
The bb.com Depth Chart lists both Troup and Gilbert as #96. The Roster page lists Troup #98 and Gilbert #96. I thought 96 played well Sunday
frogger
Right now, Branch and Troup only cause I have not seen enough from others. Branch can play LE and Troup can play nose, but he will likely be injured by week 2. I thought Bryant played well Sunday.
John from Riverside
I would go with Branch and Troup
KOKBILLS
Tried to watch Troup a bit on Sunday...Looked to me like he was running in quicksand...No quickness at all to his game...Just a plugger and nothing more...Rooting for the kid though... Gilbert did impress me, though he's on the light side for this bunch...And I'm not sure what they will be looking for in the back-ups...But it seemed to me that Gilbert was getting the most consistent pressure... Who knows...
playman
Dareus, Williams, and Troup thats enough DTs
thebandit27
Jay Ross has reportedly played extremely well in practice, so I can see him making the squad...battle for the last spot should come down to Branch, Troup, and Gilbert; I'm giving Gilbert the edge. 2020 Our Year For Sure
That would be Gilbert, and yes, he did play well Sunday. Thank you, I think he makes the team. The depth chart lists him as Carrington's backup at DE so I'm thinking he's capable of playing multiple positions.
Kelly the Dog
Branch plays DE, too, so he will stay. The coaches really like him. Ross seems to have had a good camp. That could mean Ross and Troup both stay but this staff, and even Whaley, have little allegiance to Troup, and unless he has a strong couple games, he could be the one out. boyst
They also call KWilliams a DE some times. Still I think it is Troup, Dareus, KWilliams, Ross
San Jose Bills Fan
I have heard next to nothing about Branch this off-season. I don't think Branch sticks. Heard some good things about Ross. He could be a dark horse. If you guys watched the videos on BB.com, you'd know that Branch is a lock to make the team… at least according to the head coach.
