and remember when all the conservatives railed against the Supreme Court's 2005 Kelo v. New London decision- yeah neither do I

and of course you are against the use of Eminent Domain when it comes to the Keystone XL pipeline, right? I mean otherwise you'd be a big fat hypocrite and you're not one of those are you?

LOL.......dumbest thing that I've read today.........................you must have been sleeping

The Kelo decision was roundly criticized (And still is being cited) as THE example of judicial activism by conservatives.

Just search any Conservative group or commentator....(ACU, Heritage Foundation, FreedomWorks)

What a hoot......................not just wrong..................spectacularly wrong.

Wtf are you talking about? Use the search function with Kelo in it and you will see plenty of conservative opinion on it.

And we have not discussed eminent domain on keystone yet, because it's still a pipe dream. Once it's approved then we can discuss the construction that will be held outside legal rights of way.

You gentlemen are all right on Kelo v. New London and I am spectacularly wrong, I deserve that for relying on memory, writing before coffee, left bias in reading material and forgetting the far left and Libertarian right touch on some issues.

You da man! We all make mistakes. I remember folks in NH wanting to buy land around David Souter's home and then petition the town government to condemn his property because they wanted to put up something or other. It was just a spiteful slap at him, but he was excoriated by most conservatives at the time.

Never easy admitting you're wrong. Most people won't, especially those on anonymous intarweb message boards.

For that, you deserve a

I'll second that!

I don't blame you because most of the left leaning media tends to ignore reality when it's especially convenient to them. You probably remember it based on what you've read.

No biggie.

What makes the Kelo decision even more damning is that Pfizer abandoned their development project.

I am glad we are all outraged... Sounds like the neighbors are too! God awful gov't, they will even find them new digs. Evil, pure evil... Forward!

"He said the affected residents have been supportive of the plans and will be “made whole.”

“They have been at our meetings,” Argust said. “They have been vocal advocates.”

The authority wants to renovate its existing operations center and build more parking spaces, a new garage, a vehicle service building and a maintenance warehouse facing East Main...

He called the current plans “a collaborative effort between RGRTA and the neighborhood.”

Mark Ballerstein, the authority’s director of engineering, told commissioners the eminent domain process could take a year to 1½ years to complete.

The next step is to appraise the properties and make offers to purchase them and relocate residents, he said."
