B-Large Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 http://www.aei.org/files/2013/08/02/-best-of-both-worlds-uniting-universal-coverage-and-personal-choice-in-health-care_105214167938.pdf I haven't been able to read it yet, but I will and I am sure it will produce good discussion. I don't know if this required a new thread, but I thought it might be buried in the other HCR reform thread.
GG Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 If you look at the summary alone, you'll see it's what the evil conservatives on this site have advocated for years.
Trump_is_Mentally_fit Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 If you look at the summary alone, you'll see it's what the evil conservatives on this site have advocated for years. Sounds a lot like Obamacare....
B-Man Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Sounds a lot like Obamacare.... You were tricked ! Who ever you had read the article to you must have been pulling your leg. That's a shame.............and now you made that obamacare comparison and looked sillier than usual......................a darn shame. .

That's a shame.............and now you made that obamacare comparison and looked sillier than usual......................a darn shame. . I know, the idea the AEI wants universal care is a joke.

birdog1960 Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 "per capita spending on health care is the highest in the world yet outcomes rank much lower"...can we finally agree to this? stated in the most muted way possible, aei officially does. a needed starting point for any serious discussion of reform. progress.

You just proved that you don't read (or comprehend) what the other side has been saying. Who has ever argued that USA doesn't have among the highest per capita medical spending?

Do you understand (comprehend) what your side wants?

You think the debate is about whether or not reform is necessary? We moved beyond that particular discussion point sometime back in the mid-to-late 80's. EVERYONE has been talking about methods of reform for years. This is why no one can discuss anything with you.

GG Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Do you actually believe Conservatives want universal health care? Do you understand (comprehend) what your side wants? Shouldn't you be waterproofing your home under the bridge with all the rain that we've had?
Trump_is_Mentally_fit Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Shouldn't you be waterproofing your home under the bridge with all the rain that we've had? So you know I'm right.
B-Man Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 really? tell doc that...how many time has he or you or any of the other chorus girls here argued that the terrible ourcomes are spurious and entirely accounted for by factors other than the health care system? so now, with this report, we can put that fallacy to rest, right? I do not remember that. Could you give an example to support it ?
GG Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 It was my original thought.... But maybe the details are drastically different Did you read it, if only the summary page? Or did their use if the words "universal coverage" immediately draw a parallel to ACA?
birdog1960 Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 then you need to see a neurologist for a dementia evaluation. i've cited the comparative world figures ranking nations on outcomes many times. the argument against is always the same as i just outlined. most recently B large linked to a new england journal article citing and expounding on that same data. and the response from the chorus was typical and repetitive. look for yourself. should be easy to find. now foinding actual data to support the opposing argument will be impossible to find here or anywhere...it doesn't exist.
Trump_is_Mentally_fit Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Did you read it, if only the summary page? Or did their use if the words "universal coverage" immediately draw a parallel to ACA? And the other similarities? Did you miss those?
dayman Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 from the exec summary it does sound like Obama care a bit ... Before the logistics of raising money for subsidies comes in, before the legislative process, and without protection for preexisting injuries
Trump_is_Mentally_fit Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 from the exec summary it does sound like Obama care a bit ... Before the logistics of raising money for subsidies comes in, before the legislative process, and without protection for preexisting injuries It's just a cover the GOP's ass move. The Party of No wants to pretend they have an alternative for Obamacare, they don't really. Imagine if this came up for debate, the Tea Party would freak out over universal care. They don't want the poor to be helped, they think the poor get too much already. Where was the outrage over Bush's prescription drug bill(Over a Trillion Dollars) No where, it was for the elderly, not specifically the poor, and it was from a Republican President.
DC Tom Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 really? tell doc that...how many time has he or you or any of the other chorus girls here argued that the terrible ourcomes are spurious and entirely accounted for by factors other than the health care system? What level of mental retardation is this? I have never seen anyone argue that.
